so DD used to go every 15 mins when she was real small then every 20 and the past couple months every 30 mins...ok so literally like the DAY she turned 6 m/o im all thrown off and this kid like NEVER has to pee. shes going between an hour and an hour 15 mins without pees! is this normal? did this happen to anyone else? also she stopped telling me when she needs to pee or poo so its making it extra challenging...is that common?

I just started late-start EC'ing my DS about a month ago, when he was 7 months old. I have no idea how often he peed when he was younger, but since we started I've noticed that he often goes every 2-3 hours. Actually, it's a bit more often in the hours after he wakes up in the morning, but for the rest of the day it's not very often at all. When he pees, he pees a ton!

At night, he often seems to pee twice. Once around 11-12 PM, when he pees a lot, and then again in the early morning hours...but then it's just a little bit. He pees a lot when I put him on the potty first thing in the morning.

So, I don't know if it's normal or not, but it sounds normal to me based on my own baby.

we just started EC a few days ago at 10 months. my little guy pees about every half hour in the first half of the day, but so far i don't think he has ever gone more than an hour during his waking hours, and that seems to be a stretch for him. though at night he goes the first 4 or 5 hours, then pees, then another 3 or so hours, then another pee.
i think peeing frequency is probably just another thing that is unique to each kid, like how some kids poop daily and others just once or twice a week, and both are normal.

My dd used to resist extra hard when she had a leap in being able to hold it. It sounds like your dd figured out how to hold it longer (which sounds totally normal--yay!). My guess is that you're still offering before she needs to go. How often are you offering? I would try offering less frequently for a couple of days (like go at least 15 minutes and maybe 1/2 hour longer than you *think* you should between potty offers) and see if that lets her feel more in control again. For us, it was often that I was still offering on my dd's "old" schedule, and by the time she was ready to pee, she was so irritated with my constant offers that she didn't want to go even when I did offer. Wonder if your dd is doing something similar?

Yes, it's common for them to stop signalling around that age! I told my dd I wasn't ready for her to stop signalling, but she stopped all the same! It's also normal for them to begin being able to hold it for longer and longer periods. Now that my dd is almost two, I think the holding it for long periods is the best part of EC for us. (We had a pretty long potty strike, but even during that time she was holding it for really long periods of time.) It's very cool! Things definitely change throughout the journey!
