Moldy mattress

Thread Starter
I have a Savvy Rest mattress that is almost 2 years ols that has a mild issue (it was resting on a solid surface foundation that apparently didn't let it breathe). I called the company and they had nothing to offer in the way of cleaning advice, they just offered to sell me a new latex layer.

The only parts affected by the mold are the cover and the bottom layer of latex, and I am trying to safely clean it. I have it open right now and sprayed the affected parts with a solution of water and tto (found this idea in a magazine). What should I try next if that doesn't clear it? The article I found said it would kill the mold but not necessarily remove the stain -- I would like to get rid of the discoloration too if I can.

TIA

I don't think you will be able to get rid of the stain, but vinegar is also suppost to kill the mold.

I don't think you can get rid of it. Once mold is in a porous surface, it's almost impossible to get rid of.

We had a MAJOR mold problem in our old house, and lost our couch, three beds, and countless other things. Experts told us that if it was in any fabric to just toss it. What you see is NOT the entire problem.
