Quick Move coming up, what are your best tips?

Thread Starter
We just sold our house this week and the buyer needs to close by April 30th. We are THRILLED that our house sold so we can move into our new one, but I'm a bit daunted by the moving logistics. We have plenty of family and friends willing to help move, but keeping it all relatively organized is where I want to focus.

Things I am thinking of:

*Only pack up things we REALLY want to take to the new house
*Code boxes by room they will go into
*Have one person clean each room in the new house and bring in all that stuff before moving on to the next room.

What else? TIA

Regarding coding... one thing I did on our last move was code things using the colored/shaped post-it notes. It made it really easy to see at a glance where things went. (I taped over the post-it notes...because I didn't trust the glue).

Another thing I would consider is calling in 1-800-GOT-JUNK or whomever, to take away all the stuff you don't need.

If you have access to a thrift store, freecycle group or trash pickup, I would not call 1-800-GOT-JUNK because they charge hefty fees.
