Daddy, Daddy, Daddy

Thread Starter
We have a 20 month old who was just weaned a month ago. She has recently started shouting and 'crying' when she is the slightest bit unhappy with something. She has also started demanding Daddy many times per night and won't go back to sleep unless held and rocked by him. She gets upset when DH and I hug and sometimes even when he is paying attention to me.

I feel very confident that her needs are being met. Any ideas for letting her know that whining, shouting and crying are not the best ways to get what she wants? And, anyone experience the daddy-centric behavior?

My little guy goes through "mommy" centric tendencies and definitely does all the whining. I've pretty much just talked to him in a calm voice and tell him that if he wants something he has to say it and that yelling will not get it. I keep telling him that over and over and then I ask him specifically what he wants "would you like some juice?" "are you wet?" "do you want some cereal?"
