Having issues with cover...

At night I am/was using a prefold and Blueberry OS cover. Rosy has real chunky thighs, and I notice every morning when I change her, that they are really tight on her. Last weekend I changed her in the morning, and it looked like it was tight enough that it left a large welt on her outer thigh where the leg gusset was. A week later, it's still there! It's got a snap rise (I believe that's what it's called) and I have it on the medium setting, so the second row of snaps. And I fasten the wings on the first set of snaps, so they are touching edges. No matter how I play with it, it still seems way too tight. Any ideas on how to make this work? I can do pics if needed...

Also-I feel stupid, but I had another question. I went and bought all my cloth diapering supplies at a store, and had the lady kind of help me get what I needed. Now I have 6 Motherease Bamboo onesize dipes. How exactly do I use them? Do I put them under a cover? Do I use them with an insert? Thanks!

hi there! the fitted diapers need a cover. to adjust them, you can snap the front of the diaper down to make the rise shorter, or keep it up on the larger setting. as far as the cover goes, it may just not be the right cover for your dd. is it on the largest leg setting? have you tried leaving the rise un snapped all the way? if you un snap the rise so its on the largest setting, it should free up some room in the thigh area as well. i hope this all makes sense, i'm not good at explaining things like this! lol.

Ok, I'll try leaving the rise unsnapped, but I don't think the legs are adjustable. You're right, they could just be the wrong types...

when the rise is unsnapped, there is more room in the legs sometimes because the front isnt hitched up. sorry i know that doesn't make sense, i don't know how else to explain myself. LOL. there are tons of different covers out there, so don't give up if the coveralls aren't working with her chubby lil legs! the board will probably pick up again tomorrow and maybe someone will be able to suggest something else for you.

We use Blueberry coveralls too and I'm kinda surprised to hear they've left marks, since out of the covers I've used so far (Thirsties, Gen-Y, Bummis SWW, Bummis superbrite, Swaddlebees) the blueberry's elastic is one of the softest imo.

I'd try what Inky leeuhhh says and unsnap the rise. Also, the way to adjust the legs is to adjust the bottom row of snaps (two rows of snaps around the waist) The ways they are made (front snap) doesn't allow you a huge difference in snap spacing between top and bottom rows, but it does give you a little to work with. Keep tinkering with the snaps, and maybe get some other covers to try as well. I'd check reviews online first, like at diaperpin.com, and look for reviews by other moms of chunky thigh babes and see what covers work/don't work for them. To heal that welt, can you let her go coverless for while with just a snappied or pinned prefold? Or wait, you said you have fitteds- even better, let her go coverless in those.

You'll figure out something that works for you. It's just like everything else- clothes, shoes, etc.- everything fits everybody differently. HTH mama

Thanks! I tried them with the rise all unsnapped, it seemed to make it less tight, but seemed a bit big too. I'm going to try what Adsullata said and also try to put the bottom button on a bigger setting...

The MotherEase diapers need a cover. Whether you need the insert (you can get some inserts from the same company that snap into the diaper) depends on how much your kiddo is wetting.

Can you snap the middle rise snaps on the middle rise setting, and leave the outer ones unsnapped?
