Coconut Milk Brand

Hi ladies
So, I'm looking for a recommendation for an Organic Whole Coconut Milk brand that is preservative and emulsifier free (is there such a thing?) that doesn't taste nasty.

I was using "Blue Mountain Country" for a while until they started adding carageenan, cornstarch, etc to it.

I've tried Whole Foods "365" (guar gum)- don't like the smell and taste.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Native Forest also contains Guar gum. I'm pretty sure Thai Kitchen doesn't, b/c it separates in the can. Not sure, though.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I mostly use it for smoothies.

Luckily, they're not THAT expensive so I'm going to have to buy several brands and taste test them all.
I was just hoping perhaps someone can save me the trouble and suggest some yummy one. Some of them taste soooo blechy.

BMC brand just had to ruin it by changing their formula.
Don't y'all hate it when these companies do that and ruin a good thing? Ugh!

Native Forest is the only brand that doesn't contain BPA as far as I remember Thai kitchen cans do contain BPA just wanted to add that in

I'd rather have guar than BPA for sure!!!

IMO, Wilderness Family Naturals' powdered coconut milk has the best flavor. It requires a bit more planning as you will need to reconstitute it, but I think it's totally worth it. It has a very nice coconut flavor to it.

When I'm looking for something a bit more neutral to sub for cow's milk I typically go for the Turtle Mountain coconut milk at my local co-op.

I buy native forest by the case through my co-oop, because it doesn't have BPA. Tastes fine to me.

I'm not so sure about their BPA claims. I did some research awhile back and according to Eden foods, Eden is the only company currently buying the more expensive BPA-free cans (for everything but tomatoes). That would lead me to believe that Native Forest is not using BPA-free cans. They may be claiming no BPA because they don't add it but that doesn't mean it's not already in the cans courtesy of the can manufacturer. Something to consider anyway. I could be wrong though--or something may have changed recently.

ETA: Looks like they may have made the change to BPA cans fairly recently: http://organicgrace.com/node/316 Whew! Maybe I will go back to buying from them.
