Moving and transporting frozen bm?!?!?

Good morning mamas!

So after weeks and weeks and weeks of waiting for my milk to come in (it took over six weeks so I'm proof it will come in if one is stubborn enough to stick with it. . .and have a very patient baby), I have a nice little stash of frozen bm. My main goal is to ebf, and to stock pile milk so I could leave baby with DH while working. Now we are moving back to Ohio from Boston, and I'm not sure how we can transport my frozen milk. I must not be the only one who has tried to do this before, so any suggestions? DH is driving the moving truck. When he moved here from Ohio it took him nearly 23 hours of driving the truck while pulling the car. It's going to take as long this time. I'm flying out with the baby, he is driving. Help! I will be devastated, truly devastated if anything happens to my milk.

I'm thinking dry ice, and calling the airline to see if I can even check that cooler.

Thanks mamas.

Honestly, I'd look into sending it fedex or other courier. Some companies regularly transport frozen or perishable packages- steaks by mail, for instance, or fish of the month club (it does exist, a whole frozen fish shipped to your home every month).

Congrats on EBF! Check with the airlines-- they may allow you to check your frozen milk, or carry it on if you are traveling with your LO. How much milk?

If it's a small enough stash to carry, take it on the plane. If it's not, ship it on dry ice.

I plan on having 50oz, if not more, so carrying it on won't happen. I pump every day so we'll have a stock while away from DD. I hadn't thought of Fedex as an option. I thought DH would take it with him as he's driving, and it will be heavy with the dry ice. I need to start planning it out now! We are moving in 3 weeks!
