If you have two...

Did you nightwean the first before having the second? If not, how does that work?!?

My DS is about a year old. DH and I are sort of TTC (not "trying" but not "preventing") and this has got me thinking...he's not nightweaned yet (not by a long shot. I count my blessings when this child sleeps 3 hours) I remember nursing him every hour during the night... What am I going to do with another baby?

Yes, I know, he'll be older...but I see a lot of moms on here with LOs that are between 1-2yr that aren't nightweaned either. I really dont' want to force him, how do I help him?

I did very gentle nightweaning when Wee One was about a year. BUT! I did it because I was pregnant and lots of night-nursing was not doing either of us good.

But as my milk supply dropped, she started nursing less anyway. Now she's nursing more and I'm due at the end of May and have started leaking a bit.

She now nurses about 3 times day, but doesn't like to nurse to sleep as often as she used to. For naps, she'll nurse to sleep about 20% of the time. At night, she'll nurse for about 7-10 minutes and then falls asleep on her own. She might nurse once or twice at night and sometimes when she gets up. She'll nurse if she's really scared/hurt. Sometimes she'll ask to nurse if she sees my breasts when I'm getting dressed--but she'll latch on for 5 seconds maybe.

Of course, your mileage may vary, but we didn't do it beforehand; it just needed to take place after I got pregnant and it did.
