April 08 Kids: 2nd Birthday Plans?

CONGRATULATIONS! We've made it TWO years with our LOs!
What are some plans you're thinking about for a fun spring birthday party?

A lunch party, which we did last year was hectic, and other moms had to leave early so they didn't miss nappy time, etc. So, we're thinking about a breakfast party this year - egg bake, bagels, juice, coffee (for the tired moms), fruit. Then we'd have time to go outside and play, blow bubbles, maybe even open gifts outside, rather than be cooped up in our rather small house.

The thought of cake and ice cream at 9am makes my stomach turn. Any suggestions for where to put the birthday candles? Muffins? Any creative recipes?

I'm not an extravagant party planner - I'd love to hear what others are planning to do! Thanks!

What about banana bread baked in a round pan?

My parents didn't make it for Eric's first birthday, so this year we're travelling to their place for his birthday - it'll be just a family thing. I've already sewn his birthday crown, so all that's left to make is his birthday banner I CANNOT believe he's going to be two - wowzers.
