Is Natural Progesterone cream safe during breastfeeding?

The title asks most of my question...but if it is safe..does it have any effects on the nursing baby? Such as, does it make the little one sleepy? Thank you in advance!!

I would avoid using it on my breasts for sure... but beyond that I have no clue.

I checked kellymom for you and I can't find a mention of it. My first thought would be that progesterone is a naturally occurring hormone for women so it wouldn't make sense for it to be dangerous for your LO.

That said, I have read referenced articles talking about how the dose you get from a natural progesterone cream can vary widely, unlike the prescription creams which lead to a blood level in a small window. I don't know what very high levels would do for your LO.
