celexa and weight gain

Hi All,

I've just been put on celexa for anxiety issues. I've tried for a very long time to control them w/o but couldn't so I'm on it.

My doc told me that they wouldn't cause weight gain but thru much web research it looks like an average of 30 POUNDS is usually gained?!?!

Does anyone else take celexa and what are your experiances?>

Does anyone take something for anxiety that doesn't cause weight gain?

That's almost exactly what I gained, but I wouldn't change it for anything. It was the right decision for me.

Not all people 'react' the same to medications, though. In fact all effects and side effects vary widely.

Also, be careful what you read on the internet. People are way more likely to write about the bad experiences they've had, than when everything is going well. I freaked myself out with web research when I first went on it too, but I'm glad I ignored it and gave it a try. Like I said, it was definitely the right decision for me.
