Kids are always starving after swimming. I spent $6 on bagels today for my crowd after we went hiking. But I think I'm not going to count that against me because I think of food as necessary. I know, I know...I could have spent less on something from home. But I'm still letting it slide. Hungry children can be very persuasive.

Just a little update here. I haven't been keeping up here, but I found a notebook (stuffed in my book shelf rather than buying one ) and have been using that to write down every single little thing that I spend money on. I have found it actually a bit easier to keep track, and also a little less intimidating than writing it all out here. I just sort of feel a little funny putting financial info out here, so am doing it in my book. It is such an eye opener, and I think I am going to try to keep it up for a few months at least to try to see trends and also just to keep myself accountable.

Thanks mamas!

That's what I do too, Kim. I have a little composition notebook (tiny) that fits in my wallet and I keep it next to the money. So everytime I take out money -- there is the book.
