I was shopping at Costco for glasses.

For most people glasses are a necessity, but at this point they are a fashion accessory for me. I have three pair -- brown, green, and purple -- and today I was coveting a new blue pair. Definitely a luxury, not needed.

I'm also getting contact lenses, which are not necessary either as I have happily worn glasses for the past three years. I just want them for swimming this summer. So I'm counting those as frivolous spending too.
