Another thread, and what's happening with me, have me wondering this.
If you have been eating a food without problems for months or years, can you just one day have a full blown allergic reaction to it? Or would it build up, starting with mild reactions?
Would allergic reactions be more likely to pop up after avoiding the food for a while?
All of the foods that I'm suspecting of causing my reactions, I've eaten without problems in the past (except cilantro- never had that before last week). One of the foods, cashews, I've eaten before with no problem, but not the amount that I've been eating in the last bunch of weeks. But gluten- I'm not sure I'd ever gone a day without eating gluten prior to the ED I did for ds's rash.
