I've seen my own 1st birthday photos and there's the cake with the big #1 on it. Not sure if I was capable of eating it or if it was just for my parents and the photo ops.
That said, my LO will be 1 in a month and I want to plan ahead to do something for his birthday, but not sure what to do for a "cake".
I want something healthy, so don't want to do something with sugary icing on it. Should I go ahead with a cupcake (no frosting) and let him mash it with his fingers or are there other suggestions?
What do you do for a baby's birthday when they haven't mastered solids yet?
He vomited when he put a puff in his mouth, so I can't imagine cake would go much better.

He enjoyed playing with it and maybe ate a few pieces. For his actual birthday at home, we stripped him down to diaper and gave him a bowl of yogurt and he loooved it. The yogurt pictures are the pictures we enjoy looking back at the most too for what that is worth.
