Gardasil - monogamous relationship? - Page 2

I'm not anti-vax but Gardasil isn't happening in our house. The theoreticals really are a huuuuuuuge stretch. And the risk vs. benefit scale just doesn't fall on the "benefit" side for this vax.

Here's what the Lead Researcher for Gardasil & Cervarix had to say (after the release of the vaccines) -- everyone should read this IMHO:

We are still weighing our vaccine options, but Gardasil would never ever cross our mind. Even my MD sister who gave her 20 months old son 3 MMR shots and the meningococcal one, rotavirus and flu - you get the picture - everything recommended and more, would never want anyone to get the Gardasil shot.

As for anecdotal info, I was screened for HPV once a year by my gyn in Europe and once here at my preconception visit and always came back negative, and I had my 3 partners screened for STDs (ya know, HIV, syphilis, that kind of stuff, hey I was just protecting myself!) before we got active. But HPV never crossed my mind, I just found out about the testing cause they give you papers with the results.
