Need some help with 5.5 yr old - Page 2

Craigslist has computers for pretty cheap, sometimes in the double digits. There's a guy in Litiz who is selling a power book for 15 dollars!

I'm just saying.

That being said, I think the suggestions above of watching a show with her to help her hear and process the information is a good idea. She may feel it is unfair to have her rights restricted at your house and that frustration is going to vent itself in very unhealthy ways if you don't find something she can get a yes for.

also, i know this is tough, but make sure that the tone you use with her is polite and gentle.

i have no idea if it's not but i notice with my ds that when i get really frustrated with him that i can say the exact same sentence, "i need you to say please." and MY tone is rude then he just gets more and more attitudey. if i can say it in a gentle loving way then he usually calms down.

as for going in fil's gf purse. i TOTALLY did things like that at that age. my family was stable and loving and it was just the idea of grown-ups having neat things. once, i went into my aunt's bedroom and mixed her large opium perfume with another one that was right next to it and when she asked me if i did i lied because i was ashamed of doing something i knew i shouldn't have.

my mom was a very attachment based parent and i have grown up to be a kind responsible adult.

i think all you can do is meet her with love and consistency.
