My 5 week old likes to nurse with only sucking on my nipple, I don't think there's really any areola in her mouth. With every suck I hear an sucky sound of air going in. She won't let me help her get a better latch, and if I do manage to, she changes it back to how she wants it.
She always has huge burps and it's difficult to settle her at night after nursing, and if we can't get burps out, she spits up after she's gone to sleep.
What should I do, if anything? I'm thinking of getting a pacifier to help her settle to sleep at night, but if it's cause of gas due to a bad latch, maybe I should sort that out instead.
