Breastfeeding. Nursing isn't commonly understood to mean bf here.

I say breastfeeding. As in, "Yes we're still breastfeeding so stop asking". I will also say, "I'm going to feed the baby". To DD I say, "do you want milk" and do the milk sign. Now that I think about it, I might use the term nurse if it's a comfort feed. I would say "Let me nurse her to sleep" rather than "breastfeed to sleep".

Thinking about it more, the vast majority of the time I'd just say I was going to 'feed the baby'. I'd only specify breastfeeding if the method was questioned.

Actually, I say that a lot too.

we say 'feeding'. I'm going to feed the baby, ect. Except for the first nursing after I come home from work. That's MILKY TIME!

We use nursing in recognition that often as not (especially these days at 3 years 3 months) it's as much for comfort and security and snugglies as it is for nutrition.
