Please advise! My daughter smells like Maple Syrup

I know this may sound weird but my husband & I have noticed for the last 3 days my daughters skin has smelled like maple syrup. The only thing that has changed in the past few days is I started her Nordic Naturals Omega 3's gummies. Her urine output may have decreased some but that is hard to say how much. I took her to the ped today they did urine and blood but nothing so far.
I have heard of Maple Sugar urine disease but as of right the tests show nothing.
Does anyone have any insight???? I'm not, nor is she taking Fenugreek.

What exactly did the doctor test her urine and blood for?

They checked her keytones in urine, white blood cell count, normal.
Checked her glucose, normal.

I'd try taking her off the gummies and see if the smell goes away. If she'll tolerate it, just give her real cod liver oil instead. Carlson's lemon flavor (just regular, not the "kids" kind) smells and tastes like lemon. My dd has it every night in yogurt. And it's not bad for her teeth the way gummies are.

It sounds like they ruled out both ketones and diabetes and those would be the top thoughts.
If it continues I'd want a check for MSUD. I believe in non-classic forms onset can be later. My son had a metabolic condition discovered at 3.5.

Take her off the vitamins for a while and see if that makes a difference. If the smell persists, then I would take her back to the doctor and ask for an amino acid analysis to check for MSUD. There are some variences that have a later onset than infancy.

Thank you to all for the advice! As of this Tuesday, day of appt, I did stop vitamins. They were testing her for MSUD, those tests were so far negative. Not all blood work back yet though. My first thought was MSUD and it got me a little freaked out. Plus having my girl smell like Maple syrup is a little weird!

Do the vitamins have any fenugreek in them? Or are you taking any and bfing? I took that for supply issues with ds and we both smelled like maple syrup the whole time. Not harmful, but kind of weird. Best of luck --

It isn't something one expects their child to smell like. Dirty socks, sure. Maple syrip, not so much. MSUD is really rare but it is far better to rule it out then not.
