Thoughts on internet cheapie test strips?

I tested last night with one of those internet test strips. I got it free when I ordered pre-seed. I didn't use FMU, and it was, of course, blaringly white. I'm just wondering what people's experiences are with these compared to, say dollar tree tests. Thanks for the input! Back to waiting for my body to clarify itself. sigh...

I should mentioned that I was either 13 or 14dpo yesterday, depending on FF's mood.

I am personally very frustrated with them. I have been getting shadowy lines within the time limit, sometimes. Then clear bfns. Then I got what I thought was a bfn right away so I got distracted and walked away only to come upon a nice pink evap. I'm 12ish dpo. I think they are probably great for some women. I am leaning toward waiting until 15dpo and testing with frer in the future. The rollercoaster has been a little much for me. I hate $tree tests, they always give me a second line. (please don't mind me today ~ hormones)

Which site did you get them from?

Ive seen some good sites and some bad ones...

my saveontests.com tests started showing lines 2 days before my FRER BUT those lines were so very light that I doubted I was even seeing them... I didnt start getting really good obvious lines on them until after I got my BFP FRER and they took a long time to get really dark... so i would have to say saveontests.com are good but take a long time to go from maybe to omg yes.

(http://canyouseealine.com/hpts/5292.jpg the infamous picture lol... and 13dpo was the first really super faint FRER positive)

I had 40 i bought off eBay. They worked great for me, and all the friends i gave them to when they were in a wondering-if situation. However the instructions i got said to wait until 16DPO or later, which i did. I think if you use ANY test before it says it can be used then it probably won't work. What does your instructions say about DPO/FMU etc.?

I loved them. They saved me a lot of money and never did give me a false + or evap line. I bought mine from saveontests.com I also got my OPK's from there very good results as well.

Thanks for the responses, ladies! I got them from babyhopes.com when I ordered my preseed. They say "Aimstrip" on them. They don't say when to test, but they do say they can detect 20mlu of hcg, which is better than FRER I think...if they work right. ugh, I know I know, time will tell. Any other stories?

ps - I don't know how early the dollar tree tests would have shown up for me: I waited until 19dpo to test and they were rock solid double lines. It makes me hope I'm just a late positive tester. ahh, hope. Temptress.

I have lots of internet cheapies from diffferent sources. In my experience, they show lines as soon a FRER, but it's lighter. If you look at Mae's photos, her day 14 (unprocessed, the left image) is similar to my experience with them. It's obviously a line there, but I wouldn't be sure b/c it's so faint. But on that day a FRER was clearly positive to me, like her day 18 line.
You're not out until you're 16 dpo. One day it will be white, and the next, pink! I'm hopeful for you.

Thanks, Apricot! I know you know tons about this. Thanks for sharing! I'm trying to keep hope, but also embrace the likelihood of AF. oof...I really appreciate the support of you ladies!

yeah by 14dpo FRER was clearly positive for me... my 13dpo FRER was a questionable but very much there line... in such a way that anything 12dpo would have been snow white without a doubt.

So far the Wondfo IC has given me a false positive or an error with a very thin pink line. So i you ever get a thin line be wary. However, during my last pregnancy I was getting thick shadow lines for a couple of days before a positive on an FRER.

I think internet cheapies are a NECESSITY for anyone who just can't wait till AF is late... I mean, I try and resist, but end up testing at 6 DPO, no joke, even when I fully understand and realize that 1 woman in a million will get a BFP that early.

That said, I regard ICs as something to beat back the REAL POAS urges, which can only be satisfied by a FRER, or possibly an Answer
