a few questions on the moby...

The moby is very new to me so I have a few questions. I've got my son in it right now for the first time as I type and I have a few qestions:

1) How can I tell if he is positioned properly? I can kiss his head, and his chin is not to his chest. Anything else I should check?

2) I've got it tied pretty tight-- how can I tell if it is too snug?

3) Is one week old too young to wear him? He is almost 9 lbs by now I think.

Thanks!

The crosses of fabric should pass from his shoulder to the opposite knee and his knees should be raised up a bit higher than his bum. He should not be supported by him bum/crotch

if it's too tight, you'll know, and your LO will probably petition being in there

And I wore my baby in my Moby right from the get-go.

thanks! is this for the newborn hug hold or the cradle hold? Also, he sinks down a lot after i initially put him in...

This is for an upright tummy-to-tummy hold

I wore my guy in a modified kangaroo carry from the first week until about 3 months. How do you tell if he's in there right? I never really thought about it, honestly - he was in there in the same position I would sometimes carry him in, so I didn't worry about it. I could feel him breathing, though. As for whether it's too tight, you'll be able to feel it, but I don't know that you could really do that because of the stretch... You want it tight enough so that he doesn't slip down so far to be painful for you - he should be on your chest, not your belly. I wasn't one for tying and then putting the baby in - I tied him into it, so there wasn't a whole lot of slippage.
