I like the gardening ideas people have mentioned here in the past...gloves, seeds, etc. - but, while dd1 would probably love it, ds2 would think the bunny had lost his mind. Maybe next year.

Let's see...pinwheels, skipping ropes, stuffies (we like stuffies around here - well, everyone except dh). I'm afraid we mostly do candy, although I'm going to cut back this year. I've had a tendency to go overboard. It never mattered much with ds1, because he could take it or leave it (but was really excited about getting it)...but ds2 and even dd1, to a lesser extent, are sugar junkies.

My kids also get a big basket of assorted fruit from my mom. They love that...but it is food.
Dang, why didn't I read this thread a few days ago?? DS had a pinwheel last summer and loved it to death. It broke at the end of the summer, and it would have been perfect to stick in his basket. I also meant to get him a stuffy. He LOVES his stuffies, and our bed currently has a bear and a dolphin that are bigger than he is. It is like sleeping with three toddlers, rather than one. I meant to get him a small bunny to go in there. Drat!

He is getting the following:

A paint with water book about race cars
A big wiggly ball with the little rubber "fingers" all over it that lights up when you bounce it. (Have no idea what they are really called)
A Pez dispenser, loaded with candy, but no refills
A white chocolate chick (very small)
Stickers
"Grow-a-turtle" that hatches from an egg when you put it in water for a few days
A hand crank flashlight that actually has to be squeezed rather than cranked.

Yup. We got our son some non-toxic finger paint and these stickers to make animals with.

Our ds in 7. In the past we've done lots of outdoorsy stuff, clothes, books, art stuff, dvds, small toys, neat things he might like.

This year he got a cool glass with a wrap around, built in straw (he loves stuff like that), Spiderman cup, bowl and plate (again, loves fun stuff like that), small sticker book, two small lego sets, two small seed sets, a cool post it pad with a tie dye design (he LOVES post its), several small packs of crackers he likes, a matchbox car, a grow a dragon thing, a cd (justin Bieber. He's been begging for it) and three big granny smith apples. (His favorite)

We stuffed eggs with change and marshmallows. There were six large eggs that each had a dollar inside. Some with bills, some with quarters to equal a dollar and some with dollar coins. We also did some of those confetti eggs.

We put a little gardening basket together with a shovel, mini rake, rain boots, a magnifying glass and a bug catcher. We hid empty Easter eggs (my ds is 2.5, he doesn't know to look for anything yet)

I've seen some fun ideas!
