How are you keeping them occupied/busy while they aren't at school? Any activities/outings planned?

I only have 1 day planned so far, which is a free easter event for children at a local church. I need ideas, help! (preferably cheap ideas )

I wohm, therefore I signed dd1 up for a day camp thing at the zoo. She's having a blast. Doesn't last all day, so dh and I are tag-teaming the afternoons. Dd2's daycare closes Thursday and Friday; may wind up being "take your baby to work day" tomorrow. Friday I'll be off.

If I were home with the kids, we'd hit a different park every day. And they'd get to help with errands, groceries, etc. Maybe set up a paint station outside? Is it warm where you are?

we have memberships at a couple of museums and the zoo, so we'll be hitting those with grandpa. I'd also like to try for a couple of play dates. On easter we'll be doing easter things.

DS1 was sick for the first half of spring break last week. This week (yeah, he gets two weeks off) we have their cousins and aunt and uncle visiting from WI (we live in CA). My guys have discovered that it's exhausting work keeping up with 10 year olds. We spent 2 days in San Francisco, one day at the farmer's market in the morning and on a hike to a waterfall in the afternoon, one at a local indoor play place and one at the train museum. Tomorrow we're heading up into the mountains for some sledding on the fresh snow. The visitors leave early Friday morning and hopefully DS1 will recover enough to be able to go to school on Monday. LOL

My dd is in an Engineering camp at the YMCA for three hours in the morning. She is having a blast. We are also going to parks and watching extra movies.

My older two are visiting their grandparents and auntie and uncle in the city, my SIL came out to pick them up on Tuesday. Both MIL and FIL take time off for spring break week and my SIL and her hubby are also off (both teachers) so the kids get to spend some nice quality time with them. Yesterday they went to the science gallery and planetarium and today they're going to the zoo and go mini-golfing. Tomorrow is the children's museum and movie day at the cheap theater. We sent their scooters and helmets with them and I know they've spent a fair bit of time at the park, scootering along the bike paths there and checking out the duck pond.

If they were at home, we'd fill our time by being outdoors as much as possible. A few parks in our town have new playstructures so we'd check them out. We'd also do some geocaching, as there are quite a few caches within walking distance of our house.

Dylan had 2 days of school work to finish during break (which is this week). He did some on Monday, we went to the zoo yesterday. Today and tomorrow he will finish his school work. He got behind because Joy took her kids and Dylan to the Wild Animal Park last Wednesday. And then because of dh being gone all weekend, I took over care of my MIL so Dylan didn't do any school on Friday. Other than that, he has the option of going to work with me or staying home with Joy.

Sleeping in! They aren't even up yet. We haven't done anything fun. We thought our new baby would have joined us already and they would've been busy learning about baby care.

we are sleeping in.

resting.

our week usually is so go go go go go ...

that this time we are just kicking back and doing homework together and reading together.

its been really cloudy weather. a little bit of sun came out on tuesday. but windy and COLD. so dd and i went to a riverside park, parked on the side and read our books for three hours sitting in the sun. it was soooo much fun.

we've gone hiking.

dunno. nothing is planned. we just do what we feel like. we've also done movies. played with the kitty we are taking care of.

lazy days. days in pjs.

dd is 7 if that helps. and yes she does have homework. lots of it. and so do i too.

We also have a membership to the zoo, so zoo one day, park in the mornings(one is close enough to walk to), got my teenaged sister to take ds to the movies one day.
Just trying to keep ds busy, we go nuts cooped up inside, he has sooo much energy.

I am doing all the doctor's appointments my DD needs to have done so I don't have to pull her out of school to do them.

Monday, I work so they're hanging out with their dad. No idea what he's going to do with them. Tuesday or Thursday, some friends are coming over to play, Wednesdays, we're going to NYC to have lunch at Planet Hollywood and see The Addam's Family on Broadway. We might hit up the zoo another day, and the Sunday after Easter, we're going to see my friend in a production of Brigadoon. We'll probably do a movie at some point, too . . . one that the kids pick, since we went to see Hot Tub Time Machine last night and they saw posters for a few movies they'd like to watch.

So far:

playing with friends
Cousin is spending 5 days with us
small "carnival" at DP's work
mini golf & video games
Alice in Wonderland 3D
How to Train a Dragon

It's been pretty action packed! I'm not sure what we're doing today (well, DS & DN are playing Wii right now).

Today we went to park from about 10am-1pm. I packed lunch. We took balls and bubbles and played all morning.
