Hovering, I guess?

I am outside everyday with my square foot gardens and I'm starting to worry that the plants jsut aren't growing like they should...or is it just cause I am out there all the time and don't see the difference? It seems like my cucumber plants should be bigger and my tomatoes should be bushier. Or am I just over thinking? Anyone else do this?

I usually think my garden doesn't look as "healthy" as others but always just assume it is because I'm a new gardener. lol

Yes, I hover. I am a helicopter gardener .

It gets better later in the season, once things are established. But early spring makes me neurotic with all that bare soil and tiny, defenseless plants I am certainly killing.

I'm building the habit of walking around the garden now. Now, I get to see where the violas, snapdragons, and pansies are blooming Soon it'll be weeding, and pest inspections, and then given time it'll be picking

Yes! I gawk every morning at my little plants. It is still dropping into the high 30's/low 40's here at night, so things are soooooooooooo sluggish.

A couple of weeks from now, the heat will hit and then kerpow! Instant jungle overnight. Until then I will hover over my little seedlings.
