Baby things-- what to sell or keep?

What would you sell and what do you keep/save?

We're about to have a big garage sale to declutter our house, and I'm wondering what baby items are not worth saving, or what has a short usage life? For example, things like the small, fabric drool bibs...do you use those past 6 months or so? Just wondering what things are good to hang onto. I know sometimes uses for things arise later, but this is my first baby, so I don't know this stuff yet.

I would depend on if I was having any more kids of course, but If your not then I would sell the swing, bassinet, yes those small bibs (but I never use them in the first place). The bouncy seat, baby bathtub, recieving blankets,

I would also get rid of any clothes that you just really didn't care for with the first or all but some favorites if you aren't having anymore.

Kids are crazy here so it's hard to think lol but If I think of anything else that you usually have with babies I will post more.

With my first ds I didn't get rid of much. Just a few outfits that I didn't like much and some items I didn't really use, baby bathtub, spit up towels (always used prefolds), excess receiving blankets.

Now that we have ds 2, I'll be getting rid of everything as he out grows them. Clothes mainly for now, newborn dipes & covers, baby papasan chair, boppy..... I'll be hanging onto a few things like, bouncer chair and pack n play because I'm looking at taking a child in for extra money and might need them.

If you're having more children, hang on to everything!!! If not, you can get rid of most of the "little baby" stuff. Especially the big stuff, like swings, exersaucer, Bumbo chair, etc. Take special note of things that might be dangerous for bigger kids who might try to play on it if it were around (like a bassinet or a swing).

There are a few baby things that older children might like or find useful, like a Boppy (older kids like cuddling up into the u-shape of the pillow), plain white prefold diapers, and a surprising number of baby toys remain interesting to children for a long time. Some baby clothes can be resurrected as doll clothes, too.

ETA: of course, definitely get rid of anything you didn't use with this baby; you're not likely to use it with #2 either. I got rid of my baby bathtub (why exactly do we need those?), baby clothes with cartoon characters or brand names on them, and all the toys that are modeled after TV or movie characters and/or require batteries. I also got rid of most of the slings and carriers we were given (i.e., a Baby Bjorn and an Infantino SlingRider - the latter, I'm really glad I got rid of).

This is my first baby too, but I *think* we're going to have another....I've kept all the big stuff--bassinet pack n play and swing. I gave away all her 0-9 month clothes, all the stuff we didn't use--the bouncer, bath stuff ... I started to save some of her nicer 12-18 month clothes and her toys, if they make it through the wear and tear. Oh, and I've saved all the cloth diapers too.

I've sold bigger items, my assumption being that I can buy them at close to the same price used that I sell at. I'm holding on to all the unstained clothing, cloth diapers, haba toys, etc. The smaller things that can pack away into a couple of boxes that you can't really sell and that add up in cost.

i mostly just ditched the stuff we didn't use, but I had planned on having more. Now, however, I'm not sure if we *will* have anymore (maybe 3 is enough, but we aren't big believers in permanent or hormonal birth control, so you never know when relying on just nfp and pull and pray).

I will say that my nearly-3-year-old has taken an interest in some of the baby toys, and so has my 4 year old. very strange, but it's one of those things.

I'm not sure what to get rid of now... I don't want to hold on to piles of baby stuff for no reason, but my mom swears there's a law that if you get rid of *all* your baby stuff, you'll get pregnant, again (happened to a number of her friends)... I'll probably go through and get rid of the vast majority of the girl clothes (since i ended up with a Ds2, rather than a DD2), and as Ds2 outgrows clothes, get rid of most of what I didn't love from that, too... I don't use my boppy, so I'm considering getting rid of that, I'll probably ditch most of the onesies since I prefer to use longies/shorties...

hmmm... not sure what else.

Yesterday we started sorting our Sell Pile. So far, this includes all clothing DD has outgrown, a purple bouncer, a Graco infant seat + stroller frame, about 25 little drooly bibs, baby socks/hats, a manual breast pump, unused Playtex bottles/nipples.

Right now the Keep Pile contains the Boppy, Brest Friend pillow, Pack n Play, stroller, all carriers, burp cloths, receiving blankets, toys, Miracle Blankets...what else? I'm sort of on the fence about keeping the Pack n Play. We don't use it, but DH wants to keep it as a travel crib. (Even though it's a pain to fly with and check as baggage, and we end up co-sleeping anyway.) Most of the other stuff we still use on occasion.

I think I'm okay with getting rid of the clothes, putting them back out into the universal rotation, etc. I do want another child at some point, but who knows if I will have a girl?

I sold most of my stuff between the boys - I bought most of it used (or was given it), and just didn't/don't feel the need to keep a ton of stuff. I need to get all of the stuff that DS2 has outgrown priced in the next week or so to sell at the local kids resale sale which is coming up (theres 2 a year and you get 75% of profits). I'm giving our swing away to a lady that is having twin girls in a couple weeks.

I saved a handful of outifts between DS1 and 2 that I liked the most along with the stuff that I hadn't yet gotten around to selling before I found out I was preggo with DS2. Otherwise I still had most of the 'big' stuff but as I don't see us having anymore, I plan on selling most/all of it this time around

We are having more but I did ditch anything I found we didn't use. For us that was the swing, a couple of strollers, baby bathtubs, some outfits I didn't like & misc. other items. Everything else (ie those things we found we used a lot with ds) we kept for the next one.

We're hoping for more children, but we're giving most everything away. We'll probably keep my favorite slings, toys, boppy, all my breastfeeing supplies that I like/use, baby monitors, and maybe the bouncer. I'm going to keep the pack n play (it's a travel version, so small) for company.

I've given away most of DS's clothes and all the other gadgets (baby bath, Bumbo-I hated that thing, etc.). I kept a few of the basic clothing items that are gender neutral and easily (and inexpensively) replaceable if something happens to them.

People were really generous in sharing what they had with us, so I just feel it's our duty to pay it forward. Plus, I hate storing everything!
