What are your toddler's favorite books?

DD loves Spike Lee's Please, Baby Please book. So much that when I want her to stop doing something if I say,"please stop. please baby please" she laughs and stops.

Moo Baa Lalala, Oliver Finds His Way, Bright Baby First Words, and a couple other picture word books.

I think we read Moo Baa LaLaLa about 30 times a day over here.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar, I Love You Through and Through, Moo Baa La La La, Baby Giggles and Hippos Go Berserk are all on regular rotation (like 94 times a day) around here. We're trying to interest her in some other books, but these are her definite favorites.

We have zillions, but absolute faves are Mother Goose (big one with the full rhymes, not the abridged ones, e.g., Twinkle Twinkle has five verses), Clip Clop, any I Spy, anything with animals, and anything with the alphabet. Alphabet and letters are a big deal right now for some reason.

Llama Llama Red Pajama is a particular favorite around here. Also Pigs Love Potatoes by Anika Denise. DD can't get enough of these, it seems.....

All the Maisy books, Where is Baby's Belly Button, Barnyard Dance, all the Busy Busy animals books (doggies, penguins especially), anything by Byron Barton (Trucks, Planes, Trains, etc.)

Anything with puppies or babies in it.

Other animals are sometimes acceptable as well.

Not very specific, but almost any Dr. Seuss book is a hit. At the moment favorites would probably be "I Can Read with My Eyes Shut", and I must've read "There's A Wocket In My Pocket" at least a dozen times tonight. Oh, and I recently bought "Barnyard Dance" (same author as Moo Ba Lalala) and it's very popular at the moment. (Think I'm going to have to go get Moo Ba Lalala!)

Goodnight Gorilla and Where is the Green Sheep are big hits here. Also Jamberry and The Big Red barn. These 4 get read A LOT!

"Happy Baby Words"--I don't get the appeal, at all, but a BIG hit around here
"Ten Little Babies"--I dream it, I can recite it, and I just want to kick those smarmy babies into the next state

DS spotted the illustrated trucks and busses encyclopedia in the library. He threw a fit when I didn't want to borrow it, so we landed up borrowing it. Now, he doesn't want to return it...loves it.

The Awesome Book and The Peace Book. Marvin K Mooney will you please go now, and other Dr Seuss.

We've read Barnyard Dance so many times, that my musician husband has now written a song from it.

what's funny is that 19 years ago it was my baby sister's favorite book too. I already knew it by heart by the time ds was given a copy!

2 year old DD LOVES the books by Paul Galdone.

Monster and the Tailor
Little Red Hen
Magic Porridge Pot
Puss n Boots
Three Bears
Three Little Pigs


She also loves the My Pony Jack books, she has them memorized.

Where the Wild Things Are DD loves "Mass" and the "Mon-ters" We found a Wild Thins t-shirt @ Old Navy the dd loves and asks to wear several time a week.
Green Eggs and Ham is a current favorite too.
We also have a book with pics of all kinds of baby animals that she loves.

DD rarely sits through a whole book, but she loves starting them.

Oh gosh, what book DOESN'T he like...

He loves "How I Became a Pirate" and "Pirates Don't Change Diapers", we have to read those every day. Dr. Suess anything. A book I found at a consignment store..."This Little Chick" I think it's called. One called "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" where all the illustrations were originally made of fabric and then photographed, really cute.
