Pea sized lump under skin on skull of 5 month old?

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this or not, but my sisters 5 month old has a pea sized hard thing under the skin at the base of her skull that moves around a little, but does not seem to be painful. Any one know what this could be?

My LO has had one of these- same spot exactly- since birth. It makes me worried, but our Paediatrician says that it's very normal. I believe he said it's a little cyst, and babies can often have them, and it'll go away on its own eventually.

Might as well get the Dr to check it out next time, but it's probably not a panic.

lymph node. We had them here, too; for the first 18 months or so they were very palpable.

My LO has them too. As long as they are pea sized and move around a bit, they are fine.

ETA: Of course I still check them from time to time and remind myself not to worry.

Yup, it's a lymph node. They're very easy to feel in babies and kids. I can feel every single one in my 6yo's neck. It's totally normal for them to pea sized. If they get larger than a grape/olive then there's probably an infection.
