These are the 3 I'm thinking of - sound right?

Okay. I'm pregnant with baby #2. I wore my son quite a bit but mostly used the over-the -shoulder-baby-holder. Used it a ton and in lots of different positions. When he was bigger I bought a mei-tai and wore him on my back quite a bit. So....I plan on getting another sling but most likely a Maya ring sling since it looks a little less bulky than the OTSBH. Am I right about this? I'm also planning on getting a Moby because this will be an early fall baby and I can see wanting to swaddle the babe up and go for nice long walks. And lastly, I'm thinking of getting a Boba or a Becco. I decided against another mei tai (i lost the one I had) because I liked the style but did not at all like the ends trailing all over the ground when I would take him out/put him in at the park, etc. I also didn't like that there was no hood, so if he fell asleep on my back his head was bobbing all over the place. So the Boba/Becco seem like a good fit, style wise and they have hoods and newborn inserts. I originally thought I'd get an Ergo but it also seems a little bulky to me. Any opinions? Recommendations?

I think that for a new baby, a stretchy wrap, a ring-sling, and an SSC sounds like it will cover all your bases; it's a nice round new-mama stash. And the brands you've chosen are well liked brands and easy to get.

Personally, my newborn stash consists of wraps, an old-school Maya Wrap redone by Sleeping Baby Productions, and some traditional carriers (for the dragging reasons you mentioned) - a selendang and a rebozo. Wraps are for every day carrying, ring-slings are for quick ups and downs, times like church services where I need to nurse quickly, and when I feel like it , and the short cloths are for the beach, muddy days, keeping a spare carrier in the diaper bag, etc.

The only other thing to consider is color -- with my first baby (10 years ago!) I had a red striped Maya Wrap I wore EVERYWHERE. Including my wedding and college graduation. Color did not really matter to me; I loved that sling. However, it's nice to have a few choices to go with your outfits. So make sure that you get a variety of colors if you're purchasing multiple carriers and want some wardrobe flexibility.
