I don't know if anyone's been through this or can lend some support/resources.
Two weeks ago my father had cataract surgery. The very next day he developed a horrible infection. He's been treated with eye drops, injections of antibiotics, etc, all to no avail. Today the specialist insisted that he have immediate surgery to remove the pockets of infection, etc. The surgeon gave us a very dim prognosis, because upon examination, my father wasn't able to see light out of the affected eye and I know that's not a good sign. As I type, he is waiting to go into the OR.
Has anyone been through this or know anyone who has? Any suggestions for this very frustrating, scary and dangerous case?
TIA.
