I went through chemo in 2004, so this is not unexpected, but I'm hoping to find others who have been through menopause and can tell me I'm not a freak of nature. I've been very lucky - I've managed to have two perfect children before my fertility crapped out. While trying to get pregnant for the second time, I had testing and found that my hormone levels were already showing signs of premature menopause. I was able to get pregnant naturally anyway and gave birth to another beautiful daughter two months ago. Since then, however, my underarm hair has ceased growing, and the hair seems to be thinning in other areas, although not on my head at this point. Is that a usual symptom of menopause? I mean it's not like it's this horrible thing, but I guess it does let me know that things are not functioning entirely as they should. Could it just be my hormones being all wacky, trying to recover from the pregnancy? This did not happen after my first pregnancy, though, so I think it must also have to do with bigger hormonal changes.
Anyone else have a similar experience or knowledge about this? I'll be seeing my doctor soon and getting all kinds of testing, but wanted to get some opinions, too. TIA!!
