I *finally* find some NIM JIOM, stop off at Walgreens, and get an *alarmist* reaction regarding...

And....I am freaked now. And desperate for relief from my cough.

The full name of the product is King To Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa and it also says the Pei Pa Koa contains NO ALCOHOL,ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, COLORS, OR PRESERVATIVES.

When I had stopped at Walgreens after finding the syrup, I mentioned to the pharmacist what I got and he said absolutely NO WAY should I take anything like that from China as the government puts things like steroids in all those types of medications-and would never mention it!!

Here are the ingredients:

Elm Bark 650mg per tsp.
In a sucrose syrup and honey base of herbal extracts consisting of:
Loquat leaf
Fritillary
Balloon Flower root
Snakegourd seed
Sand root
Senega root
Tuckahoe
Licorice root
Ginger root
five flavored seed and peppermint.

Rather than get in a heated discussion with him about how American Big Pharma has hurt me more than help me, I let it go and came here to MDC for input.

I wish I had some experience with this medicine...I'm sorry I don't.

However, we have had coughs in the family for SIX MONTHS. Each person would get better for a week and then start all over again.

The only thing we have found to help us is Virustop by Enzymedica at a therapeutic doses. We are also using Mucostop for congestion.

Are these meds available in a HFS, Walgreens, or online?

I still haven't taken the syrup I bought. Today is a *little* better, but I've used the inhaler so much over the last 24 hrs I wonder if that is why...

You can get them cheaper online, I think Amazon has the best comparison prices. But when we've run out before ordering, we bought them at Fred Meyer (Kroger) or a HFS.

I think we've beat the coughing for the most part. Now we're on a maintenance routine using the Virastop. I started getting sick a couple of days ago and took it first thing in the morning and again in the afternoon. Doing this for three days, it seems like it's almost gone.

It's spendy, but has been worth it for us. If you go on Enzymedica's website, there is good info on their products. Also, they have great customer service on the phone.
