info for friend

My friend is young and pretty mainstream. She had a bad epidural experience with her first baby. She's pregnant again and serious about not having another epi. I would like to find some basic, "entry level" info on pain management. I don't want to overwhelm her to start with, and a lot of the really good stuff like hypnobabies just isn't available for non German speakers here.
Thanks in advance

Here is some very basic lamaze-method info... http://www.lamaze.org/Default.aspx?tabid=90

Pretty geared towards women who do not know a lot about natural birth, but not overwhelming. It's just some info about movement, avoiding interventions that may cause more painful labor, having a good support team, etc. It doesn't go that much into actual methods, but introduces the idea of med-free pain management.

Is it possible for her to have a doula in Germany? Also for her a class of lamaze or bradley would probably be very helpful, if those are available.

I was going to recommend The Birth Book by William and Martha Sears, but this is pretty much the same info for free:

Do you have access to a copy of Ina May's Guide to Childbirth? I've had several mom friends change their thinking (and pain management strategies) after reading that book.

What language does your friend speak? There might be some things accessible to her in her own language...
