Thank all the lords and ladies of light it's "not march"! Huzzah!

I'm starting the month sick as a dog (where does that saying come from, anyway?) so it'll only improve from here!

i don't think the brain child article was it. it was HUGE like 7 pages long on the bennies of kids spending 7 hours a day in front of a screen. i will have to hunt it up.
i might be jaded, as i have 5 kids and i have noticed that with them more screen time means crabby kids. not that they have no screen time, just limited. and you know, my kids know all sorts of stuff with just me talking to them. lol ok maybe i should go to bed. i am feeling feisty! lol good night!

Morning

Clay like you I am so glad March is over!!! I hope you get to feeling well soon. I think the weather in our area is turning warmer starting today so maybe that will do the trick

Going to sub to this thread, and go back and read the rest of March

Clay- May you get well soon!

I just had to come back April 1st. I always like to see what mdc has done on this day.

My son is still sleeping. This is unheard of. Seriously, he's NEVER slept this late.
I just went in and felt his forehead and face to see if he has a fever but he doesn't (thank goodness.)

We were at Boston Children's Hospital yesterday for a bunch of testing and then went to lunch and to a store afterwards. So maybe he's just wiped out.

Immunologist is checking his thyroid, though. (due to some ongoing symptoms.)

That's enough about me. Hope everyone is well.

POsted on the march thread cause I am not with it this morning...

Happy April all! May this month move us from bleck, yuck, sick, cold to warm, sunny, happier time!

Happy April!

I think I'm trying to cheer myself up. Huge yucky stuffed up head. Maybe sinus infection? Enough!

Anyway, It's dawn. The sky is a smokey lavender, and the birds are singing away. It's spring darn it. How could it not be wonderful? I don't know if it's the TM astro stuff or what, but whew this energy! You know, my map from this last year is still in the house we vacated. Should I bring it over for the last bit of the year? I'm thinking I should. I was spending time with it before I left there. Hmmm. I have high hopes for this next week. It's spring break for my DP and DD. I want to spend time in the vacated house decluttering and gardening.

Happy April to all! I'll catch up later. Health, happiness and peace to all.

oooooh April. i do love april. all springy goodness that it is.

i am getting ready to take DD1&2 to the library for story time. then off to catch some lunch then grocery shopping. it is lovely here and I am excited. i have plans for this month. It is TM month, and i have decided to make my own Mei tei. so exciting. i am having my mom help me with it. This month is also DD1's 3rd bday. so big. planning a party for her and her friends (my friends kids lol). DD2 still isnt crawling but she will any day now. She is tryng to eat everything anybody has and will play on the floor for an hour with her sister. she loves swinging outside on the swingset. i have decided to buy one of those double sit-n-stand strollers. they start as a dbl then convert to a sit-n-stand. that way i can push them to the playground, then wear DD2 while helping DD1 on the equipment. I am planning on doing stuff this summer that involves exercise for me. i need to slim down. type 2 diabetes runs in my family.

i have to have another tooth removed. so frustrating. they couldnt save it. he gave it a good try but the tooth is ...well i cant repeat the word the dentist used. it must be bad if he used that word. i have been seeing him for 5 or 6 yrs and he has never used that word before about one of my teeth . here's hoping for a quick recovery.

i think i have decided to get the tubal surgery. i dont think i want to risk passing on my fibro and my bad teeth to anymore kids.

hello to everyone! glad to "see" everyone found the april thread too.

I knew it was April. Honestly I did. And yet, here I am at 1pm wondering why none of y'all had posted
Well. Usually someone posts a linky to the new thread, in the old thread. So it's not entirely my fault

Eating like a bird...they do eat a lot, but only a tinybit at a time. Maybe that's what's meant? As for pigs, I have no idea. I don't know why we (in general) think of pigs as gross. I have heard they are very clean and fastidious, as animals go. Maybe because they are big, and it's a size discrimination thing? Assuming that bigger folk are grosser? I have known people who thought that way

Yep, you should. Follow your gut. Especially when you answer your own questions "out loud"

Happy April, all!

lol

Pigs don't sweat - they do not have the glands in their skin to do that, hence the rolling around in the mud to keep cool So with that I'm not sure what is meant with that saying or "sick as a dog"

Happy April to everyone! Be gone sickness, and ills welcome good news, energy and sunshine!

He typically wakes up anywhere between 5-6:30am. Even if I put him to bed late, he wakes up early.

People wonder why I have dark circles under my eyes.

I just looked outside and was shocked by what I saw.
It was unbelievable. I wasn't sure I understood what I was seeing at first.
Yes, my friends, it was the sun. It's been so long, I didn't recognize it at first.

Clay, you gotta be feeling better. You and your family have had enough! Wishing you a speedy and persistent return to health!

I hope you avoid the sinus infection and feel better FR! And that you get some time to do the gardening and decluttering at your house that you want.

I agree that 5 am is definitely too early, DoK. And you are a tea drinker, not a coffee drinker, if I remember? Must be hard. I'm glad you got a no-joking sleep -in break today. Wishing you answers for Roo's health concerns. That must be hard, too.

I looked up the Big Momma Made the World book after you mentioned it, gun. What fun!

Happy April, all you Fools!

Would it be terribly geeky of me to start in on how I'm thinking about how April Fool's Day has real potential as a pagan holiday because of the link to the Fool tarot card?

I am not currently interested in tarot cards as a method of divination. However, I still think about the Ryder-Waite images as archetypes, ie. "She seems to be in a three-of-wands state at work right now" or "Oh, no, the Tower is falling next door!"

I've been re-reading Robin Hobb's Fool's Fate series and thinking about how her androgynous character The Fool/Amber, obviously inspired by the tarot image, is probably my favorite literary character of all time. (Anyone interested in checking this out, start with Hobb's book Assassin's Apprentice.)

I wish I were more like the Fool. Dancing into the future, trusting and unconcerned by danger...

ETA and did I say, yay for babies crawling and about to crawl!

And wytchymom, hope your dd feels better.

And Wolfcat, how is the situation at work? That babe is going to be coming soon -- how are *you*?

Lionessmom, I am sorry about the situation with your teeth. And that you have to carry that word your dentist used in your head. I have what I'm sure is a similar word in my head for a slightly different dental situation. I wish dentists would be more sensitive to the language they use in front of/with their patients.

Hi!! Hi, hi!! Happy April all! Hard to believe I'll be 41 in a week! Harder still to believe I really don't care. Of course, it may have something to do with copious amounts of rum consumed in an effort to make my shoulder and arm stop hurting after falling yesterday. It's all muscle type pain, nothing's broken, so it's all good. But the rum, my gosh it just suddenly HIT about 15 min ago and wow I feel it. I never do this (anymore) and gah I'm such a lighweight since having kids it's almost embarressing! DH likes it though, it's good for a laugh if nothing else!

Did more work on the Nature Resource Center today. Gotta get a name for it. I'm thinking format of XXXXXX Ecological Center. So far I've come up with "Twilight's Mist" and "Sunrise". OK typing everything twice to avoid typos, and I think I'm done. have a great night!
