Ok, time to hit the beach

A yellow solar-plexus-chakra sundress for you, aweyn

I want to climb over all those logs at your meditation spot, saphire. Will try not to disturb the meditation, but the sound of the waves should be loud enough to cover my noise....

Also in line for a yummy iced drink at the swim-up bar and time with a good book. And swimming with the dolphins and making shell anklets. It goes without saying that the water is warm right?

You know what I really want from a beach vacation? I want to find some of the magic beaches from fantasy novels I've read. I want to wander across Robin Hobb's Elderling beach and find some magical artifact with mystical significance to me.

But most of all, I want to ramble on the beaches of Pern's Southern Continent and find a clutch of fire lizard eggs.

For anyone who never read Anne McCaffrey, fire lizards are beautiful miniature dragons that can form a psychic bond with you if you feed them when they hatch. I don't know where I'd put a dragon but I have always longed for a fire lizard of my own. And it could live with me and sleep in my family bed.

They love music, too, so would be great fun at the dance party...

We'll be using the back door from now on. Also, I don't use the dishwasher so it's not a danger.

Ds is ok, thanks.

I love the secret (althought admittedly the movie is a tad cheesey lol) For me the idea is that 'enough' means something completely different to everyone.. it's a very personal definition. For someone living in Africa.. it may be having ENOUGH food to eat for their family. For me.. it might be having enough not to worry about bills, save a bit, and give money to charity to help that person in Africa acheive THEIR enough I absolutely think the universe is one of plenty, so I don't think that having MY version of enough takes away from anyone else. In fact it gives more to them, through me

Oh no, I haven't been around much the last couple of weeks So I'm not totally sure WHY you feel on the outside... because your babies are all grown up? I dunno, But I will miss your posts a lot.

Snipped bits from your post Aubergine.. but can't be bothered going in and doing the quote codes

Well, it is all connected to the Law of Attraction stuff, isn't it?

I have issues with money, too. My specific thing is fear that one must pay karmically or otherwise for windfalls/abundance. Like, getting a legacy but you have to lose someone you love to do so. Or using up all your luck getting that great high-paying job and then something bad happens to someone you love....I hate that I think like this, am working on it.
Yes, the bachelor rats are most amusing. Their cage is cleanER now...but tomorrow you won't be able to tell it was done and I'll go do it again I'm sure it irks them that I take away their mess

Glad I'm inspiring someone.. not sure how that's possible though? lol I got dh to help me with the sweep/vacuum end of things.. laundry is still on the line lol, and dishwasher never did get done Will chip away at it today, as well as go grocery shopping for the week.

I used to have that 'using up all my luck' thinking too.. but I finally firmly planted it in my head that luck is not tangible so there is no amount.. it's like love, infitely possible.

Geez... what a lovely LL you have. Maybe the universe is trying to tell you something?

DH & I have started browsing at houses online...in hopes of motivating us to save a bit better. Found a cute 3br/1bath house with a nice (not overly big, but nice) yard for ONLY 249k *sigh* That'd be about 50bucks a fortnight more than we pay in rent. I found myself saying.. it's only 3br.. BUT the 3 little guys don't mind sharing a room, so they could have the biggest bedroom, we could take the next one, and D could have the other when he arrives

RedVeg- I'm so sorry you feel on the outside. I hope you find your place of beauty, and when you do I hope we can be a part of it! I'll miss your energy and thoughts!

Aweyn- hang in there! It'll happen! What is kind of crazy is that I really want to move back to the Boston area. So we're doing all this work but probably wont reap the "reward" (apple trees take a good 3 years to bear, for example). I tell myself I'm living in someone's dream and need to treat it gently, in the hopes that the person who is inadvertently living "my" dream life is taking care of it.

funky health- The lower right is more or less fine now. It's just the lower left "pull" from coughing that is killing me at the moment.

weather- today I sat in my car with the temp around 84. And then the radio informed me that tomorrow the weather will be "rain, mixed with snow, high around 44". Oh my little pineapple poo. I'm expecting some amazing weather though as the temp drops 40+ degrees in a few hours!

pony ride- pictures here. Laia selected the robot herself and did about 90% of the build. And the visit to the stable went swimmingly. She was SO excited and happy she almost couldn't speak. I mean a whole body "thrum" of pure unadulterated thrill. I think lessons are in her future.

I read The Secret, never saw the film.

A friend gave me Conversations With God a few years ago, and another gave me one of Louise Hay's books and that was my introduction to the Law of Attraction. It didn't work to start labor before my due date, I'll tell you that! But it works on a lot of things.

Anyone currently active over on the Wise Ways of Women board? I used to lurk there sometimes. Probably a lot of treasure mappers there! Time to swing by.

Hey, Cari, you made a to-do list! You are thinking about cleaning and decluttering and delegating some to your dh!

I have a cleaning checklist already, but have not been very good about remembering that it exists lately.

I need to work on the grocery shopping, too. I tried the every other week thing in 2009, but going through all the receipts at tax time convinced me that it was a big fail, as you would say. I ended up making too many fresh produce runs to the expensive neighborhood store. Back to weekly shopping.

Mmm. MLS cruising. Haven't done that for about oh, a week or so. My latest thing is looking for inexpensive tiny homes on good semi-rural acreage locations where I could use the house for cooking/laundry/bathing and put up a yurt addition for me --er -- I mean, for the kids to use for a bedroom. The Yurtlady commented in the yurt thread in the country living forum here a few days back that she thought it was a great idea. I was so excited. It means that yurt living is meant to be in my future.

Sunshine, there should be yurts in your nature centre, I think!

And definitely, yurts on the beach!

pick out swim suits, sarongs, hats, whatever suits ya!

eta: i'm wearing a yellow hibiscus in my hair. it's helping my solar plexus. ;-)

i'm going right for the mango margaritas, chips and guac.

(the resort, btw, has awesome child care......)

i wish i could take you to a real resort. or at least out for posh coffee!!!
Mmm, I'll take you up on that posh coffee!
I lurve the yellow hibiscus idea I would like a flower crown. Perhaps dandelions, since they're my favorite, but in our virtual world they do not wilt.
I will have a sarong also, but will have to decide on a swim suit. I have bodacious ta-tas, and an uber-willendorfy shape. What to wear? Oh, and I don't drink, remember, so I don't mind driving But I will take a huh-YUGE fancy drink with cherries and orange slices and an umbrella, even if it's non-alcoholic

Yeah, mine too. She's better since I remind her, but I have to remind her "Mom, this is where you say 'aww' and 'I'm sorry' and 'bummer', but I don't want advice or judgment." At least she gets it when I do that, though.

I'm sorry to see you go, too. Come back when you're comfy, mama

I had the "check engine" light come on in my car tonight, so I have to have that looked at, first thing-- let's hope it's nothing. M says it can be something as simple as a drop in barometric pressure, which we had. Let's hope it just needs to be reset. I can NOT be carless. I am already so, so in debt, that I can't figure out what to do, but losing my car would just suck. I can not get another one.

Aweyn
DOK: how's Roo?
Clay: you are just too superwoman for me! Me so jealous!
Cari: yay, you're back!
Valerie: feel better, mama

anybody else I forgot...I didn't do multiquote madness, so if I missed you, it wasn't intentional

Revdeg-I'm so sorry. I'll miss you. I understand though. (hugs)

momofthree-awesome on the childbirth classes for nurses.

DoK-glad ds's foot is doing much better

So...today I couldn't help but adopt a runt of a ferret girl. My friend rescues and adopts them out and they got her when she was only a few weeks old. Now she's a little over a month. She's so small it breaks my heart. She's almost only a pound!

She's so beautiful though. White with silver and cute pink nose. We named her Rocker! So now she's joined her two big brothers, Swiper and Peekers and has already made it clear she's the queen!

I LOVE Convo's with God. I used to have the cd to go with it... Leonard Nimoy as the voice of God, it was amazingly inspiring. I miss it

hehehe.. lists are something I'm good at making! I still have to get all that laundry in and fold/put away, as well as start on the bedroom

I find that what kills me $$ with 2weekly shops is that I OVERBUY on snacks and such. I think I get sucked into OMG it must take a FULL cart to feed a family of 5 for TWO WHOLE WEEKS!!!! mentality. WHen I go shopping for one week, I find it easier to say oh I'll be back here in 6days so I don't need that much. I do produce about 2x a week from the veggie shop

I do it fairly often. I'm getting very nervous though so maybe I should stop (and I should totally stop reading news.. I did NOT need to know that house prices have gone up nearly 5k EACH MONTH for the last year here. And have kept doing it even though our interest rates are rising!!!!!)

Hehe yay for more rodent critters I was THIS>-< close to wandering into the pet shop yesterday to see if they had any black male rats. Only reason I didn't is I have an email out to someone that listed (on a rodent club) that they have several, and I'm waiting to see if they are still available to adopt.

I finally found a style that suits me utterly. This comes close. My airport dress is IT, though, mamas...it is styled similarly but has a cross-over part on the bust.

Cute flirtly dresses mamas I've spent the last hour or two in my bedroom. I folded and put away ALL the laundry from the line , decluttered all the misc crap from my closet , and got a start on clearing off the dresser I have a box of microfibre diaper inserts, a few swaddlebees, about 5 bummi's covers and other assorted bits that I am going to post on one of the local NFL type groups and see if Ican't rehome them. Actually.. I know a lady who is about 4mos pg on one of those lists.. I'll email her now!

Getting a LOT done
I've been wanting to get a yellow dress as yellow is the new "it" color.

So, my car is acting weird. My coolent gauge is telling me my engine is overheating and I need my windshield wipers looked at. Tomorrow morning I'm heading to go get that checked out, then off to the store to get groceries, balloons for ds's 5th birthday...wahh my baby is growing up..

I'm making him a peanut/chocolate cake for him. And then tomorrow I finally make my appointment to start on my back tattoo. Much to do!

Good Friday All!

I hope you have a good day! I need to get caught up on stuff this morning, so I will try and stay offline.

I will catch up with the thread after my chores are done.

Hello!

Signs of spring: 2 inches of snow overnight, and a big windstorm. But we woke up very early because the 6 am post-equinox daylight really glares off all that snow

I have my 3 yr old in my lap. Not feeling well, maybe? very clingy. He will only let me type this if I add the drum emoticon

Also happy to do laundry, I guess

The decluttering bug has finally bit. Got the bookcases and the boys room done last night. Tomorrow is a community garage sale and I am trying to finish cleaning out toys to donate.

Even though I have a home childcare, I think 4 dollhouses is too many I need to put the fixer-upper wooden one on the market, as -is condition, handyman special

I wish I could wear yellow. Any shade of blue/green/pink or purple, yes. But brown/yellow/orange make me look washed out and feel a little diminished. Always loved the fall colors, too...

Hope the car is ok, Unschoolin. You posted the image for your back tat already, right? (or am I wrong? I remember some gorgeous tattoo images being shared. I can't remember what it was though . What are you getting?
Will check in later. Have a great day!

LOVE the idea!

We had a rain/snow mix. Ugh and ick. But good weather for working on the addition since there's no thrill to going outside, right?

I need to keep moving on the clutter. I know part of the "problem" is I've done the easy stuff.... the obvious clutter and piles. Now I've got to do the "deep" clutter... sorting paper, emptying drawers. And that takes more time/attention. This might be a dvd-heavy day.
This morning, for vacation, I want to start out with beach yoga. Then a massage...we'll see what comes next.

Healthy Car vibes to all those cars in need!

grocery shopping- when my girls were babies, I loved grocery shopping. Fast forward 10 years and it's such a drag. The monotony of it. I make my menu & list, then shop every week or two, depending on what we need. It would be so very nice if there were a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's around here. Or even a co-op. I get by just fine with the natural dept in Fred Meyers, and fortunately the produce around here is great. But still, I'd love a Whole Foods. Going to the grocery store is on my to do list today, as I have been putting it off all week.

Clay- I'm so glad you are feeling better and that the pony ride was such a happy event. Yay! That first pic is sooo cute.

Unschoolin'- congrats on the baby ferret and the soon-to-be tattoo.

Aubergine&Sunshine&Clay- Crazy weather! We had strong winds yesterday. Now our pool is full of tumbleweeds. It's still blowing hard- like 50+mph gusts.

Mamaofthree- I totally get what you are saying about enough/money/feeling of guilt if you have "too much". I struggle with that too.

Is the book The Secret worth reading?? ( I have seen the movie)

Yeah...when I was young, my mom always pestered me to wear yellow. I've always hated yellow (at least, for wearing). I think that's part of the reason
That dress I posted, I would not wear in yellow. I like muted and fall colors, too, and forest/nature colors. I look good in red, but can't stand it. I'll stick with goth black

@ the DVD-heavy day. You mean for the kids? I was thinking, for me...hee hee
I hate decluttering paper. I have to do that, too. The filing cabinet, ugh. What are the important things to keep? As far as bills and what-not? I know I can throw all the receipts away. I think. I think I will get to that sometime next week.

Car update: they are short of technicians today. She said if the light isn't blinking and the car isn't showing signs of ickiness, then I can wait. I have an appt. for Monday, and I need to get the oil changed anyway, so there you have it. Let's hope no deeper issues.

M update: Things are good, for now

I got Slumdog Millionaire from the library. Haven't seen it yet. Might settle down with a big bowl of popcorn and watch it while my ds has a friend over; maybe I'll actually get to watch most of it uninterrupted!
I want to declutter my clothes, too, and underwear drawer. And I need to re-do my son's bug-out bag. He's grown out of the clothing that's in there. But since he has a friend over, he doesn't want me in his room

i love decluttering, except that i can't do it with the boys around. they want to keep EVERY scrap of paper, every broken toy. yet if i do it when they are gone, they come back and don't even miss the stuff. lol
we are getting some gray rainy weather the last few days. i don't mind cold, just gray. i miss the sun. it puts me in a mood... blaaah.
i am suppose to work tonight, and i know i need to, but when i am off for so long, i hate going back. lol
unschoolin': looking forward to seeing the tat!

DoK: did you ever here about that other apartment?
clay: love the pix!

Gah. Your kids do that, too? Doesn't that just drive you nutty? I say, at least ADHD has an upside
My boy, at 9, has finally given in to decluttering some things. But it's a start

Off to declutter my closet. Or watch that dang movie. I think I'm too antsy to sit down and watch anything
post #179 of 596
Sunshine yellow isn't my color either. Sometimes I can pull off mustard, but HAS to be mixed with other things, else I look jaundiced. I look great in vibrant blues and apparently fuschia.

I accidently decluttered a collection notice from an old store credit card from 1997. Whoops. Usually my decluttering efforts aren't so great, but that was really stupid of me.

I stll haven't heard whether I've made it to the next round of interviews. This process is taking forever, and my patience is wearing thin, but I think I'll hear by TM time. That would be tmely!

to those who need them!

totally skimming....

lurve the dresses, ladies! and thanks for the inspiration! i'll be heading to some stores soon to get more sundresses, as i need them and lurve them so! (i have two right now, and one is someday soon going to go "poof!" and then i will cry.)

dream life... love the notion of caring for someone else's, clay!
ahh. it's so hard! basically i thought we were going to go live ours, and now that dream has sort of crashed and burned, i'm dealing with the fall-out, and trying to figure out what my True life is, rather than my Dream life... because, well, my Dream life doesnt take into account things like my body seems to prefer warm weather, even if my mind or my heart enjoys the notion of cooler weather... it's all a jumble in my head right now. but i'm starting to unravel it... sort of like reverse weaving... pull the threads to see what it's Really made of....

ok, i'll come back when i get more time and reply to more, because this thread is keeping my boat afloat at the moment!

hugs and happy prepping for TM vibes to all!
