The giant Aardvark really freaked me out!!!

I haven't read the book. So far, the show is very strange! I think I like it! The actors are good. I am not sure I am up to watching it for the next 12 weeks...........we will see......

anyone else watch it??

Weird how you can hear everyone's thoughts, right down to the bird or the dog.....

it sounds like a knockoff of Lars von Trier's classic "The Kingdom"...?

Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital is the haunting new 15-hour drama series created directly for television by the award-winning, bestselling master of horror. Using Lars Von Trier's Danish miniseries Riget (a.k.a. The Kingdom) as a point of inspiration, King tells the terrifying story of The Kingdom, a hospital with a bizarre population that includes a nearly blind security guard, a nurse who regularly faints at the sight of blood and a paraplegic artist whose recovery is a step beyond miraculous. When patients and staff hear the tortured voice of a little girl crying through the halls, they are dismissive of any suggestion of mysticism or unseen powers … but at their own peril.
I just assumed it was from one of his novels!!!!DUH!!!!!

the original is the freakiest thing i've ever seen on tv, outside of the better Twin Peaks episodes.

but...when did stephen king turn into a hack "interpreting" other people's work???

Didn't it also come from another woman's book? Eleanor Druse?

I am confused. I saw it last night and it creeped me out, but we will probably watch it.

Maybe when he decided to "retire"? :LOL His web site says he's not retired, but I remember seeing him on TV saying he wasn't going to write novels anymore, so who knows.

I watched it and I thought it was good. I can't wait to see next week's show........IF I can remember it's on. :

Adina, Eleanor Druse is the name of the "healer" character in the show. King did the same thing with Rose Red- there was a book "written" by one of the fictional characters.

I watched it last night with my 3 teens. I liked it. I liked the vampire offering ice cream! Cool. It does remind me of Twin Peaks, but more pop, being King. Dd caught a ref to Salems Lot which she read recently, the Ice Cream Man. I caught a ref to the NA guy in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Chief Broom I think he was called?

Last week I didn't know when it was going to be on.

I like the Druse character. She is interesting, being in touch with the spirits and wanting to figure it out. Lots of interesting characters in general.
