painefaria - a thousand hugs your way, sweetie.

Wehrli - Can you move me to waiting to O? Thanks.

This cycle is out for me... woke up with cramps and spotting, poas and it was negative, and AF came within minutes. Since charting for over a year, I have always had 13-day LP's. I think once I might have had a 14-day LP. This cycle, the one where we finally insem, my LP was 10 days. I don't understand. Does anyone know how this could happen? Is it possible it was just a fluke? My temps have always been high, 97.5-98.2 pre O and 98.4-99.0 post O, so I don't see how it could be a problem with progesterone. I'm trying to look at the bright side: If my egg was never fertilized or failed to implant, and AF was going to come anyway, I guess it's better it shows up 3 days early so I can try again sooner. It's a stretch, but no matter what, today is kind of a sad day.

Oh no~ much sad news today and my hugs and thoughts to all of you xoxo There's not much of a positive spin to put on any of it, but thank you for being here and sharing with us.

I went to the pharmacy this morning and picked up my progesterone (vaginal suppositories~ fun!) I'll start with those in the morning, and then it'll be the mounting fun of having lots of pregnancy symptoms without knowing if they're real (or in the past cases not actually being pregnant). It's kind of cruel, but whatever works.

AmandaM~ a short luteal phase is how I ended up on the progesterone in the first place. I was variable in my lp lengths and my doc put me on these just to make sure we had time for the bean to stick if he/she/it was going to. Maybe it's a possibility for you? It's not super fun, but better safe than sorry.

Love to all xoxo

painefaria-- Big hugs for you, we are here to support you in any way that you need.

AmandaMom- It can be common for your cycle to vary month to month depending on what is going on in your life. Do you chart other signs such as cervical opening and fertile mucus? I've noticed lately my cycle varies more because of my work schedule whereas last year it was very predictable.

AFM- DPO 7 and my temps are staying up in the 98's. Last night we had friends in town and they wanted to go out to clubs. I kept drinking my water bottle and telling myself "I am pregnant!".
AmandaMom I'm sorry, sweety. How disappointing and confusing! I'd chalk up the 10 day lp to the effect of first-time-inseminating stress/anticipation on your hormones. Really. And even if you do get another 10-day lp, you could try progesterone cream, which is much gentler and milder than the suppositories (unless your doc thinks you *need* the strong stuff, of course). I tried the suppositories once, and it was way too much for my system and threw off my cycle the next month; though clearly others here haven't had that problem. The cream gives me one extra day of lp (11 days instead of 10). But I'd consider it a fluke for now and not worry about the progesterone.

AFM, I'm actually happy because my monitor gave me my first day of "high" today. If I understand this correctly (Wehrli? others?), I should have 5 days of high before peak...which puts me well into next week, when my KD will be able to send me overnight shipments. (If I O before Tuesday, FedEx can't get me the goods overnight!). I'll start also doing OPKs, just to confirm, but I'm definitely feeling less crazed using the monitor. Yay for calm!

LibraryLady This means that you are the next Amanda up for a BFP! Then, I'll follow along second, and then AmandaMom will finish us up! Sound like a plan?

Max I really hope that the water was worth it!

Hang in there, everybody.

AmandaMom: I'm sorry. I'm in the same boat as you. I've decided that January is the perfect time to have a baby. We'll be delightfully pregnant at Christmas time, and then we'll get to start off the new year with a wonderful new person!

Hey Amandas--my name is Amanda too (how are there so many of us?). Can I be part of the Amanda BFP plan? I'll hopefully be getting my BFP about the same time as AmandaMom.

LibraryLady: I'll keep my fingers crossed that this is the cycle where you have pregnacy symptoms AND you're pregnant!

MaxK: Hooray for high temperatures and positive pregnancy feelings!

AmandaHope: I use the CB monitor (is that what you're using?), and I've always gotten 0-2 days of high before I get peak, so I think it might vary from person to person (and in my case, from cycle to cycle). I'll hope you're one of the people who gets lots of high days before your peak!

escher and AMom, sorry for your bfns... i really hope this next cycle is the one!!

AHope, about the CB monitor... my "high" days varied some too... i want to think i usually got 5 days. i'm pretty sure it's measuring estrogen as well as LH so it really depends on your body... good luck!

max, yay for high temps and also for positive thinking, i hope it works!!

library, this was my first month on progest sups and what worked for me was telling myself it was all from the progest, every last symptom. i convinced myself it wasn't true and it kept me from obsessing and kept me relaxed.... good luck keeping distracted!

afm, i got my second beta results back... hcg = 124, progest = 46... not bad. one last beta on monday morning and u/s [tenatively] scheduled for 4/19/10. eeeekkk!!!

Escher! Always glad to have another Amanda! Now we really ARE like 'Charmed'. The power of three! Oh, and this other one too!! I'll do my darndest to lead the way, and then we'll all follow along. Amanda's a good name. My mom's a huge Star Trek fan and I'm named after Spock's mother, for real!

I'm dashing out the door this morning but wanted to say hello and big hugs to all!

Wow, I went out of town for a week and look at all that happened!

Congrats to those of you who got lucky!

Hugs to those who didn't.

Over here, I went to Florida to visit my brother, ordered sperm and got it all lined up. Got home this morning and have an email from fed ex about cancelling my order. I'm not sure what that means. I will call the bank in the morning to find out. I'm having a strange cycle in general. AF was only 2 days and now the OPKs are messing with my head. They all look almost positive. Grr. CD 10 and on. So if I don't get my sperm delivered this month, it won't be the end of the world. The plan here is to insem every other month, because I want to use 2 vials and can't afford to do 2 vials every month.

Good luck to those who are still waiting.

Ugh, seraf! That would be terrible to miss your insem due to FedEx ignorance. Hope that all works out well. Your plan sounds like a smart one, especially if you're having such a funky cycle. The Femara I was on and the progesterone I'm on now really sorted all that out. The OPKs are super clear now. Nothing nothing nothing BRIGHT BLUE LINE. It's reassuring.

I have another name for the Terrible Name club. My sweetie's friend back home in the UK had a little girl yesterday and named her Zephyr. Lordy.

Thanks for all of the love... We are doing okay. We have been talking about what we are looking to do next. I know that we will be waiting until at least may/june to try again. We are seeing the family Dr on Friday. We are trying to decide if we will be going back to the OB/GYN that totally blew my care after my first M/C.

we are wondering though, because DP took at trigger shot 11 days ago (10,000). she took the booster trigger 5 days ago (2,500 - 5,000???). so we aren't sure if it's the hormone still left, or if she really is pregnant....

i don't like this unsure state... any tips?

we are going to keep testing.
Giggleblue WOW! CONGRATULATIONS! That's fantastic!

Seraf You sound pretty relaxed, which is admirable! I hope FedEx gets it right and gets you your swimmers, though. When I had an almost-not-sure-positive last month, I used a digi for reassurance. They are pricey but maybe worth it?

Escher The more Amandas, the merrier! So...Library is next, then me, then you and AmandaMom. With all the fertile energy and spring flowers around...I think this will be our month!

Wehrli So happy about your beta! Everything sounds great, and you sound comfortable. Can't wait to hear about the early ultrasound.

Max and Wehrli Thanks for the monitor info. I had my second day of high today, so I'm in the clear, now. Even if I got the OPK positive tomorrow, I could still do an insem on Tuesday. And if I have one more day (or more) of high before peak, I should be able to get in two. One more question: do you usually get the OPK positive on your first peak day? I'm just confused, because I thought LH doesn't usually surge until mid-day? Thanks again!

Hi Everyone,

Giggleblue! How exciting!

Amandas: Thanks for the welcome to the Amanda club. I agree--this is our month! Late December (for LibraryLady) and January (for the rest of us, right?) are perfect times to have a baby.

AmandaHope: I get a positive opk the afternoon BEFORE I get a peak reading on the clearblue monitor.

Painefaria: I hope your family doctor is great and helpful. I'm sorry your obgyn was a jerk last time.

LibraryLady: Zephyr is an excellent bad name, but to make it truely awful you would have to add a very long bad middle name. Any suggestions on what that should be?

Seraf: I'm sorry your cycle is being weird. I hope you can get everything straightened out with fed ex tomorrow!

Good luck to everyone waiting!
