I can't believe it is April already. Our babies are growing up so quickly. Keep the posts coming so we can all keep up with each other's progress. I'm sorry I don't have more time this morning for personals, but I wanted to get the new thread up at the very least! Enjoy spring, ladies!

Jen-WOW! Teryn is almost all grown up! Was she signing an agreement for a scholarship?

Pookietooth-So sorry to hear about your baby's bronchiolistis. Poor little pumpkin. Take care and I hope she is better soon.

Wow, Jen, you must be so proud

It's funy, because over here, it's me! I got my lettert last month, and I've got my student funding in place (Between having a baby and being low income, the Province gave me a whopping $26 000 for study this year!!! And only 9K is a loan, the rest are grants and bursaries!!!)

So it;s official- I'm going back to school in September!

In baby news- I had Lyra on our bed last night and she was making the motions to army crawl. She was digging her knee into the bed trying to move forward to get to my phone She just couldn't get the traction she needed..

Time to do the big baby-proof of our house!

Boobs4milk- Kianna doesnt like fruit either, it makes her belly hurt too. We are sticking with mostly veggies for now.

Look what happened at our house this week!!!
(Excuse my husbands weird dialog on there.. . lol. At the end he makes a weird growly noise, No idea what he was doing. He says he didnt know he did that! Lol.)

I've learned that phones are huge motivation for crawling! Lu can move from side to side now and sit up independently long enough for me to go to the bathroom or go feed the dog. But she still isn't ROLLING! I don't get it. I guess she skipped it?

She's also saying "Memmy" when she's upset. I can't tell if it's just a random pairing of syllables that happens to sound like "mommy" or if she's really calling for me. Either way, she got me wrapped around her finger

Currently she's taking a nap...has been asleep for 1 hour and 44 minutes!!! I am a bit shocked to say the least. And I know she's still alive, because I'm watching her snooze away on the video monitor. Go Talula!

We tried a little rice cereal and I don't think she really needed it, so we don't do it often. Gave her some avocado. She smooshed one chunk and then stared at me as I moved about the kitchen. So she's not at all into finger foods. Thinking about making an avocado/breastmilk puree...or maybe banana/breastmilk. Any recommendations? I'm so nervous about messing up her belly and don't want to start too soon unless she really needs more calories ya know? I don't want to rush this age. I LOVE it!!!

For the first time last night when dh came home from work and came to say hello to her, she smiled really big and lunged into his arms and then she cluctched his neck and buried her little face into him. I know husbands tend to feel left out or not as connected as the mamas at first...this was a really special moment for him. It really warmed my heart.

She'll be 6 months next week!

Wow!!! She is really good at it. Israel has the foot part of crawling down pat and is almost doing an army crawl but he can't quite get the hand part figured out.

Hi everyone!

You've all got us beat on the crawling, sitting, assorted baby tricks!

Devin is still just a little lump of adorable.

He can kinda sorta sit for half a second if I position him just right. But, he'll get there soon enough and then I'll cry that my baby is so big.

He looooves his big brother and just lights up when Brenten pays attention to him. He is loud and squealy and full of giggles. He adores the water and bathtime with brother is super fun. He is lunging for and trying to attack any and all food/arms/faces/dogs - basically if it comes near his mouth, he's going to make a wholehearted attempt to maul it.

He sleeps well, nurses well and when he's not shrieking in my ear like a mad man is an absolute joy. I feel so very blessed.

Alright we're here, Owen is doing amazing of course. He currently is sitting, army crawling and on his hands and knees. He puts out his hand and falls down. He still just such a joyful little guy pretty much all the time. Our problem is he just lately has been eating SO MUCH. Nursing all the time, eating everything and anything, he just is going through the 6 month growth spurt and has been for at least 2 weeks, I feel pretty drained from his nutritional intake necessary. Co-sleeping has been a bit much since I cannot move or he wiggles to find the boob. Ugh, I'm fine but I did have a slight meltdown last night and had to hand him over to DH to sleep for awhile due to the fact I'm not getting rest since I cannot move.

Things have been well though, we had a snowstorm today. Big thumbs down on that. That's about it.

Wow, lots of moving and eating!

D has a temper. He's taken to rolling onto his tummy and then hollering until I help him back over...upon which he does it again. If I want to cook or wash dishes I have to strap him into the bouncy seat or swing. I really hope he goes for babywearing again soon!

He wanted my apple so badly the other day that I let him hold a chunk. He loved sucking on it, but got REALLY mad whenever he lost his grip. Impatient little guy.

I spoke too soon up there:

during naked tummy time the last two nights, Lyra's been making progress- she's *almost* army crawling. She's doing the motions but can't get the leverage to propel herself forward when she's lying on a blanket. I can't wait to put the video up on youtube!

Ds started army crawling at 5 months so I'm thinking dd might too, although she is very different -- less active, more mellow. Still using her inhaler every 4 hours.
I started ds on rice cereal at 4 months and it was a disaster. With dd, we will definitely wait. Just because they grab something and shove it in their mouths doesn't mean they are ready to eat -- dd puts everything in her mouth, including plenty of non-foods (my hair, rattles, medicine syringe, inhaler mask, etc.), but I doubt she's ready for solids. I'm not ready for the poop change, anyway! The problem with grains is that most babies don't have amylase in their saliva for digesting starches, so it just ferments in their guts. The amylase is an enzyme that breaks down starches, and it is closer to one year (or even two years for some) that any decent amount is in their saliva. You can try putting some of their saliva on a saltine and put some of your own on another one and see how differently they react. Something from junior righ school science (biology?).

Subbing.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate and Happy belated Passover on Monday to those who celebrate. I was fortunate to be invited to a beautiful Passover seder dinner on Monday and it was so incredibly intersting. I loved it.

I feel really dumb asking this, but what exactly does subbing mean? I see it all the time on this board and I assume it is a way to put the thread back up at the top of the topic. Is this right?

If you sub (subscribe) to a thread, it puts it in a folder for you so you can have a quick look and see if there's activity in any of the threads you post in
