I got my Mirena 3 1/2 years ago. I thought it was all fine and dandy until a few weeks ago I realized that perhaps all of my anxiety/depression/panic attacks, IBS/gluten/lactose intolerance, fatigue/muscle aches/migraine headaches, might all be due to that little piece of hormone infused plastic in my uterus. I too was rushed to the hospital, but for a severe panic attack, I thought I was having a seizure. I was not in control of my muscle movements, very strange. I have told many doctors over the last 3 years I have mirena, and none of them suggested it might be it. I literally am going into my GYNO to get it REMOVED! I also have sensitivities to aspirin, ibuprofen, codeine, percocet... I don't like taking medicine for cold/flu more than a day because they make me feel trash. I had gone for a colonoscopy and endoscopy to check out my entire system. They only found my stomach was still raw from bleeding ulcers I had 15 years ago, and one polyp in my intestine. No H-pylori, no coeliac. Diagnosis: IBS and Acid Reflux. Basically a NON diagnosis in my opinion. I knew I had acid reflux, had it since birth. But IBS is a non-diagnosis for what is really there. I also was put on many different types of SSRI's for depression/anxiety which when I took as a teenager pre-birth control years I tolerated these medications well. The past year of trying different SSRI's then when they gave me more anxiety and depression they put me on Bipolar meds that made EVERYTHING CRASH! Once off those I started to feel better again, but still the original problems persist. Hopefully I wander back here after I get the Mirena removed and can tell you I'm all better again.
