Roll Call! - Page 8

I'm back :)

I am tentatively posting here, I am still in shock that I am pregnant so here it goes.

Name: Sarah

EDD: 12/11/10

Age: 33 (34 in May)

Location: Lancaster PA (there seems to be a lot of MidAtlantic girls in this DDC )

Family (partner, other children, etc): DP - Yvonne(29) and DS- Holden (3)

Gender preferences/inklings: HEALTHY PLEASE

Names you like:

Birth plans/preferences: Hoping for a home birth

Anything else you'd like to share: We are very nervous at this point. I actually wasn't going to join for a few more weeks... We lost our 2nd child 1/10/10 at 11w5d. So we are very cautiously optimisitc at this time. Here's hoping for a

UPDATE - So after 7 days of bleeding and thinking that I M/C... I AM STILL PREGNANT

Name: Nina

EDD: December 31st

Age: 36

Location: Washington

Family (partner, other children, etc): DH Tom, DS Conor 6, DS Asher 2
Lianne and Finn are still in my heart and mind.

Gender preferences/inklings: I really want a girl, enough that I am taking a risk being pregnant. But am assuming that it will be a boy so I am not too disappointed. I WILL be finding out.

Names you like: None yet. Dh and I make a list and then choose the name after the baby is born.

Birth plans/preferences: I will be having a scheduled cesearean birth. My last birth I ruptured during labor due to scar tissue from our accident in 2006. I had an emergency cesearean(my first! I expected anything but surgery).
Due to previous rupture my chances of rerupturing can be as high as 17% so I am not even going to try labor.

Anything else you'd like to share: NERVOUS!!!! There are so many things that could go wrong. I called the ob office today and insisted on an appt sooner than normal.
Also I know there is going to be a lot of negativity about me being pregnant (again!) and need to get myself in a good place so I don't let that bring me down.
But mostly excited... A BABY!!!!!!

Name: Lacy

EDD: December 31st

Age: 35

Location: Sacramento, California

Family (partner, other children, etc): DH Chris (35 today), DS Jakob (turned 2 on 4/17) and pets - 2 cats and 1 parrot

Gender preferences/inklings: Slight boy preference, but too early for inklings. I still have a niggling fear of having a girl since I had/have such an awful relationship with my mom, but I also know it could be really different and wonderful.

Names you like: Girl - Annika Christiana. Boy - not so easy. I like Jonah Timothy, DH wants Johann instead. I like Micah, DH wants Michael. We'll figure it out.

Birth plans/preferences: Still up for debate between a VBAC and a repeat-C. I had a hugely traumatic first birth experience, PROM followed by four days of labor, followed by an emergency C, which resulted in an inadequately treated infection entering the bloodstream, traveling, and becoming five new infections. I almost died from a collapsed lung and pneumonia. I have PTSD from the experience, and will most likely schedule a repeat C to maximize my control over the situation, and to avoid a repeat of the labor with eventual repeat-C, which is common with VBACs.

The extended second hospitalization interfered with establishing breastfeeding, but I persevered, and am still nursing my 24 month old son.

Name: Grace

EDD: December 28th

Age: 31

Location: California, Concord

Family (partner, other children, etc): DH Raymond

Gender preferences/inklings: No preference.

Names you like: Boy - Ryan, Girl - Haley

Birth plans/preferences: would love a homebirth with midwife, but may not be possible due to my weight, so maybe natural birth in hospital? This is my first, so I don't really know and have lots to read about

Anything else you'd like to share: today is the 3rd day we found out I am preggo. Scared, happy and extremely happy now.

Lori- I posted on page 7- can I be added to the list for 12/30/10, expecting #1?

Name: Katheryn

EDD: December 21st

Age: 35

Location: California

Family (partner, other children, etc): DH, DD (5), cats

Gender preferences/inklings: Girl would be preferred, tho we'll love whatever we have. I feel like it's a boy, but then I felt that with my daughter even after the u/s, so who knows?

Names you like: Picking will be hard: we're both extremely opinionated. DD has had her sister's name picked out for 2 years (Kyra, with Koraline a distant second), but I'm not sure we really want to go with those. We'll see.

Birth plans/preferences: I have no idea. In a perfect world I think I'd go to a midwife-staffed birthing center adjacent to a hospital, so I could do the 2 day postpartum stay. I like the idea of a homebirth, but don't think it's something we're both ready for.

Anything else you'd like to share: 2010 is a big year for us too. Pregnant, DD starting public school, and my husband opening a brick and mortar again (our business has been internet only the last couple years). Last time we decided to make changes, we gave birth, moved into our first house (50 miles from family) and bought the business, all in a span of 6 weeks!

Names you like: I'm not sure I can break our "keep the name a secret" rule....

Birth plans/preferences: natural birth in Oak Park with West Suburban midwives, just like our first!! Although I feel like I know more specifically what I want and don't want going into it the second time around.

Name: Erika

EDD: December 15

Age: 30

Location: North Carolina

Family (partner, other children, etc): DH, twin DS (7), DD (5), DD (2). Ddog.

Gender preferences/inklings: Tie breaker! I have no idea; this will be my first time not finding out and I'm excited about that.

Names you like: Maybe something that starts with an L. I'm not sure yet.

Birth plans/preferences: Homebirth

Anything else you'd like to share: I'm a little freaked out, hoping this will all sink in soon.

See, I thought you were having twins. After thinking you weren't sure how many kids you had.

OK, OK...since it seems that all of my other PAL mommas are joining up, I might as well!

Name: Jess

EDD: December 26th

Age: 28

Location: California

Family (partner, other children, etc): Husband Travis, sons aged 5 and 2, one angel in June of '09, two dogs, a cat, and a fish.

Gender preferences/inklings: I'm feeling a little girly over here. And my chiro (who claims she's NEVER wrong), thinks it's a girl too. We'll see!

Names you like: Girl ~ Evangeline Lily Boy ~ Cameron Scott And no, I'm not a big "LOST" fan...I just like the name Evangeline Lily. Evangeline means "messenger of good news" and we're hoping for some really good news after losing our angel!

Birth plans/preferences: Homebirth with a midwife, likely waterbirth.

Anything else you'd like to share: I'm totally stoked to be pregnant again, as it seems like it took an eternity to get pregnant after our loss. I'm still taking Vitex twice daily until the end of the first trimester since I used it to correct my LPD. I also have that bundle of nerves, though, wondering if things are going to go wrong again. I'm just hoping and praying that I don't end up in that "In Our Thoughts" column at the bottom of the DDC list again.
