Roll Call! - Page 2

Name: jamyla

EDD: dec 1st

Age: 34

Location: MD

Family (partner, other children, etc): married to pierre almost 11 yrs, one 23 month old baby boy.

Gender preferences/inklings: not the slightest inkling. there wd be awesome things about either a boy or a girl: girl: 2x2 household, waaay cuter clothes boy: not having to deal with another head of hair (handling my own is nearly a FTJ), and the two boys thing has its own adorableness.

Names you like: so not thinking about that yet, really, but still like some of the nearly-made-it's from our first: sadat, cymande, hendrix, micheaux

Birth plans/preferences: hospital birth with a midwife, same as our first. i loved our experience!

Anything else you'd like to share: SOOO excited!! these first 12 weeks can't pass quickly enough.

Name: Rachel

EDD: December 6 (our 6th)

Age: 31

Location: Illinois

Family (partner, other children, etc): DH Karl, 5 kids: DS Kaelan (9), DD Chandra (6.5), DS Liam (5), DS Lachlan (3.5) and DS Killian (2) plus our dog Artimus.

Gender preferences/inklings: No preference at all. Everyone around us wants a girl, but I'm pretty content with another boy also.

Names you like: No clue right now.

Birth plans/preferences: Tis will be another homebirth. All of my other babies were born at home and it really is the only way I feel comfortable having a baby.

Anything else you'd like to share: Everyone is excited.

It's so good to meet you all! Here's to a happy and health nine months for all of us.

Name: Sobranna (means "friend" in Estonian)

EDD: December 5th (Our #1!!!)

Age: 26

Location: state-o-Washington until June, then Cali

Family (partner, other children, etc): me and DH, who's an engineering student

Gender preferences/inklings: Girl. For a while I wanted a boy, because some of my favorite preschool students were boys, but DH wants a girl, and I cannot keep myself from the darling girl clothes and crafts. That said, of course we would be overjoyed at a boy as well.

Names you like: Hmm. Tons. But another reason I'm hoping it's a girl is that DH loves the name Cedric for a boy, which I don't, but I just can't come up with anything else to counter!

Birth plans/preferences: I really wanted to do a hospital birth with a midwife, but it looks like my insurance only covers OBs in Cali (where we'll deliver).

Anything else you'd like to share: This is going to be VERY interesting. I guess I never doing anything just halfway ... DH has an internship so we are moving June to December, I'm hoping to also get a temporary job for that time frame, and I plan to finish all four sections of the CPA exam before baby comes. I'm starting to freak out. Already. Yeesh.

My Dh is working on his CPA right now too! We got regulation done, he took financial and got a 74%, we were so upset, just one more question! Hoping he will finish in the next few months! I had no idea how hard those tests were! Sending you lots and lots of positive studying vibes!

Age: 25

Location: Louisiana

Family: DH of nearly 6 years, DS Xander 3.5, DD Lorelei 12 months

Gender preferences: No idea, but happy with either!

Names you like: William Vincent (Liam for short), Winnifred Anne... who knows?

Birth plans/ preferences: At home. Maybe UC if DH approves, if not, maybe midwife.

Anything else: We've been trying for this baby for 5 years and were very surprised to get a BFP!

Name: jamie

EDD: December 9

Age: 34

Location: rural wisconsin

Family (partner, other children, etc): me, hubby and 23 month old daughter, and 5 month old german shepherd/black lab mix pup

Gender preferences/inklings: we'd like a boy, only because we already have a girl. the chinese calendar says its a boy?! a baby sister would be very sweet though, too!

Names you like: not sure yet, need some time

Birth plans/preferences: would prefer midwife at the hospital birthing center, which is what we did last time. love the midwife approach, but we needed extra help from doc's due to heavy meconium last time, so a mix of the 2 was great for us. also, we live so far out in the country that in an emergency it would take a long time for any medical help.

Anything else you'd like to share: hoping to be more relaxed this time around, and gain less weight! i am also a modern dancer/acrobat, so i will be trying to really keep up with working out, weights, etc. would love to chat with others about fitness while pregnant, or vegan cooking/nutrition for yourself and family.

Name: Danica

EDD: December 6th

Age: 34

Location: Illinois

Family (partner, other children, etc): SAHD DH Doug, DD1 Cora (5), DD2 Marlowe (3)

Gender preferences/inklings: We've gotten so used to saying "the girls" ... not sure how our dynamic would change with a boy, but don't care. Just peeved as heck that I'll be hearing, "still trying for a boy, eh?" comments.

Names you like: Last time, we argued on names until month 8, and never agreed on a boy's name either PG so far! Things on the vague penciled-in list right now are Serafina, Kellan, and Mathilde ... but see? No boy's names yet, again!

Birth plans/preferences: I had a great VBAC with a midwife at a hospital last time. I'm vascillating between repeating, and looking into homebirth. I do remember saying during hospital check in, "if there's ever a #3 it's going to be a f***ing homebirth!!!"

Anything else you'd like to share: Still feeling a bit nervous. My mom had serial miscarriages due to some antibodies, so I'm on aspirin & progesterone preventatively each pregnancy.

Names you like: who knows. Still trying to adjust to the fact that after trying we finally got a BFP!

Birth plans/ preferences: I would like to do a VBAC with a midwife.

Anything else: Still nursing/cosleeping with DS. We are going to have to get a bigger bed!

Name: Kara

Age: 33

Location: Kansas City

Family (partner, other children, etc): boyfriend of 3 years, I have 2 boys (ages 10 & almost 7) and he has a daughter (6 years)

Gender preferences/inklings:Either. We would be happy and it would be fitting for either

Names you like: Boy - Briar, Girl - Shara

Birth plans/preferences: Going for a home/water birth with a midwife

Anything else you'd like to share: Nervous as heck but growing with excitement. Haven't told many people - waiting to tell family and the kids but I feel safe on MDC and my parenting forum. YAY for discussion boards.

http://canyouseealine.com/view_home_...fm?testID=6681
(and inverted) http://canyouseealine.com/view_home_...fm?testID=6682
And b/c I have no self control, I peed on my EPT digi and I DEFINITELY belong here!
http://canyouseealine.com/view_home_...fm?testID=6686

Name: Melek

EDD: December 17th

Age: 25

Location: Austin, TX

Family (partner, other children, etc): DH of 3 years and our 22 month old son, Aydin

Gender preferences/inklings: Doesn't matter

Names you like: For a boy, I like Emre and a girl I like AYŞE (sorry about caps, had to copy/paste off a site that had the special character....both are Turkish names)

Birth plans/preferences: Trying for a homebirth (after c/s). I actually have an interview with a midwife tomorrow. I have been trying to interview early b/c I have had some issues with BP, but I have lost about 50 lbs in the last year, and I am hoping I can maintain good enough pressures to not be risked out of a HB. If I do have to go the hospital route, I have the name of a super natural birth friendly OB, but I would really rather HB.

Anything else you'd like to share: Hoping to see this line get darker over the next few days! I have a ton of tests (including one digi!) so I may just try to hold my pee for 4 hours and pee on another LOL!!!

Are you or DH turkish?? My dh is turkish too! That is so funny. We're picking turkish names, as well. Im having the hardest time finding boy names I like... we loove emre, but our friends son has that name!

Is Aydin turkish too? I havent heard it, but I love it! I also like the name Berke, but we've got a friend with that one too! We picked Neyla if its a girl.

Its so nice to have someone else turkish on here, how cool!

And congrats!!!! I definitely see the line, it looks just like mine did with my first. very faint. Im sure you'll see a darker one asap!

Ok I'm doing this on my phone so ill try to add everything...

Name: amanda
Kiddos: A she is 3.5 and we have M he will be 2 in may
EDD: Dec 17th
Names: we aren't sure and don't share names
Birth plans: Homebirth...I'm super excited, ds we planned a homebirth it just didn't happen
oh gender prediction: I am not sure of gender however I think this may be a twin pg. My preg tests are really dark at 8dpo, and less than 12 hours later I took another and it was even darker. My dd was a twin so maybe again? My chart also matches too many multiple charts too...haven't found a singleton chart like mine yet.
Other info: I'm a nurse and work parttime. This is first cycle after a MC so I'm really nervous. But trying to be optomistic. I am getting labwork tomorrow

Hey, yes I just saw on the first page that your DH is Turkish! How cool! Yes, my father is half Turkish (his father was Turkish), so I am 1/4 Turkish! My name (Melek) is Turkish for Angel, Aydin (pronounced like eye-den, not Aidan, except the "i" is the Turkish "i" that has no dot, so it is not exactly pronounced like "den" but it is the closest I can type LOL) is Turkish for enlightened.

I love, love Emre, but DH really likes Zeki for some reason. I mean, I think Zeki is OK, but for me it sounds better as a child's name and I am just not sure I like the name Zeki for a grown man, kwim?'

I LOVE Neyla! I have never heard that one! What does it mean and how is it pronounced? Like Nay-luh?

Oh, another name I love that can be unisex is Deniz, but DH does not like that one at all! Maybe I can bring him around

I just posted my digi which came up "Pregnant!" So excited!!! Of course, I will be peeing on my FRER daily still though LOL
post #36 of 265
Hi ladies!! Faint BFP ($store test) yesterday and less faint one today!! Everything is closed today, but I am going searching for a FRER later today, I need more confirmation!!!

Name: Kellie
Age: 37 next Sunday!!
Location: Canada
Family: DH for 5 years, one fabulous DD almost 4, weinerdog, 11.
EDD: December 17ish?
Gender preference: We love our girl and would love another one, but would take a boy
Names: we have some, might keep em secret for now!!
Birth plans: not sure, homebirth or birthing centre. Midwives are hard to come by around here and of course I cannot find out if I can get one until Tuesday. If I don't get a midwife, we may be doing an unassisted birth!! (kidding, but only sort of!!) DD was born with a midwife in a birthing centre in Montreal and it was the best experience of my life.

Other info: WOH FT, have been trying for about 7 cycles and this is all a little surreal still...I had exporatory surgery scheduled April 14th to try to diagnose possible endo so that adds to the shock, we were resigned to looking for reproductive assistance. DH is so happy, he really wanted to avoid that semen analysis!! DD was born in April, I am a little unsure what a December baby will be like, but bring it on!!! Super thrilled to be here!!

Name: Brandy

EDD: December 17th

Age: 26

Location: Alabama

Family (partner, other children, etc): DH Tony, DD (from previous marriage) Jayde (6 and btw i got pregnant with her exactly 7 years to the date that i got pregnant with this little bean!!!)

Gender preferences/inklings: No preference, we have names picked out for a boy and a girl....it would be great if i am pregnant with twins though!!! (really ready for that first ultrasound lol)

Names you like: Boy - Carter Tryton Girl- Emma Mattilynn-Gail

Birth plans/preferences: I'm poss going to have to have another c-section since my BP did some crazy stuff there at the end of my pregnancy while i was in labor with my DD but if i had my choice i would do it without drugs!!!

Anything else you'd like to share: Happy, nervous, scared, and worried all that the same time lol...but really looking forward to the next several months! And greatful there are so many of us to share this wonderful experience with!!!

YAY!!! I saw your digi!! That is soooo exciting. Yeah, Neyla is pronounced "Nay- luh" exactly. It is not very common in turkish. its originally arabic. it means (loose translation) a prayer/wish that was answered by god.

I like Zeki too... but DH and I agree on NOTHING. My favorite turkish girl name is adile "aa-dee-lay" but apparently its like naming your child "billy-bob" in english, cute, but you better own a farm. so, were planning to get a kangal and name her adile so i can still use the name! haha.

of course, i reminded dh, that we DO want to own a farm, so its totally appropriate, but he isnt sold on it. Luckily he loves Neyla.

Do you guys visit turkey ever?? Do you speak any turkish? im working on mine, but our three year old way has me beat at this point!
