HI everyone.
Hope I'm not too late to join!
Name: Jenn
Due December 25ish...
Gender: Surprise!
Birth plans: Homebirth with midwife.
This is my second baby and we are super delighted. I've just moved back to Canada from Ireland. My DH is still there until end of Sept finishing up work, so I'm just visiting family with my 3.5y/o girl.
I had a planned HB with m/ws the first time around and decided to go to hospital during transition (D'OH!). Had an amazing birth experience regardless! I suffered PPD, so I'm trying to be proactive this time around.
I run a small baby carrier company and am on the long road to training to become a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and was lucky enough to do the bulk of my training with dr. Jack Newman.
Pregnancy is going great- i'm loving all the movement and feel really good this time around, not as emotional or tired. I am hoping to avoid unltrasound unless it's medically indicated. Although because we aren't settled into the community where we will be living/birthing, I am not under the care of my m/w yet, which means I'm getting alot of pressure for an u/s. (rolling eyes). There was mention of twins at around 12 weeks, but everything seems to be measuring int he realmn of 'normal' now : )
That's about it, sorry for the long winded post, I hope to dive in and get chatting. I made some great friends in my DDs birth club so i look forward to doing the same here!
