I like Zeki too... but DH and I agree on NOTHING. My favorite turkish girl name is adile "aa-dee-lay" but apparently its like naming your child "billy-bob" in english, cute, but you better own a farm. so, were planning to get a kangal and name her adile so i can still use the name! haha.

of course, i reminded dh, that we DO want to own a farm, so its totally appropriate, but he isnt sold on it. Luckily he loves Neyla.

Do you guys visit turkey ever?? Do you speak any turkish? im working on mine, but our three year old way has me beat at this point!
OMG! I love Adile! I have never heard of that one! But LOL about the farm!!!

I have been to visit once when I was about 15. Our whole family went and met the Turkish part of our family. My grandfather had long since passed away, but we got to visit his grave, which was sad, but a good experience too. As for speaking, I took 4 semesters in college and let's just say my favorite sentence is "Benim Turkce cok kotu." LOL!!! I really want to get Rosetta Stone or something so I can get stronger in it, and I really did want my kids to speak it, but as of now, I don't get much practice in it.

And just because....here is my 10DPO test It is FMU, but at like 4 AM after having already peed 2 or 3 times during the night. It is still way, way darker than 9 DPO though

Oh you're definitely pregnant!!! The line with my first was so light and now shes here driving me crazy with her back talk and bossiness! haha. Congrats!!!!

I got the rosetta stone, but it went missing when we moved because DH "put it somewhere safe." and that was 2 years ago...

Every time we've gone to turkey people always think im turkish because i have brown hair and brown eyes. They always try to talk to me. "Turkce bilmiyorum" Then they try arabic or german... its really hilarious. "Im American..." "That isnt a real ethnicity. Where are you originally from?" "uh, Houston, but my ancestors were from Germany." "oh, so you speak German." "No, Im American! I speak English, just English." haha. DH's grandma still tries to speak in German to me! We go every summer for about a month, except this year we might not go But hopefully next year...

I just cant imagine traveling with my 3 year old while pregnant. She is a NIGHTMARE when she doesnt get enough sleep. Last year we decided to stop in Paris on the way, which helped break up the flights by about a week. Best decision ever! Plus we got to see Paris, which was fun. But we really love being in Turkey. DH's mom lives in Bodrum, so, its like a vacation every time! Were planning to move there in a few years for a year so the kids can live near their other grandparents for a little while. Its our dream.

Wow, Lauren you are so lucky to get to go so often! I wish we could go back. All of the family we visited is in Istanbul. I think my grandfather was from Ankara (not totally sure), but I'm pretty sure most of the family has moved to Istanbul now.

Lol @ people trying to speak to you in Turkish! We had a much, much older relative who literally would speak Turkish to us nonstop the whole time we were there. The rest of the family just talked over and around her b/c I guess it was just what she did. we all felt bad though, so we paid attention even though we had no idea what she was saying!

Just remembered another girl name I like...Aylin. If I had twin girls, I think they'd be Ayse (on phone and can't type the special "s") and Aylin

I love both those girl names! I dont know any aylins at all. All though, it is the name of one of DH's previous girlfriends, so he probably wouldnt go for it. I really liked another of his ex's names... let me see if i can remember it... Sibel ("see-belle"). But she works as a flight attendant for turkish airlines and hes too afraid we would run into her and then she would ask the kids names and think he still had a thing for her , haha. I was Po'd cuz its a really nice name!

I like names that have a, m, e, l, s(h), or c(h) in them. so, now DH is on the hunt for the perfect boy name... we shall see. So far he has shot down every single turkish boy name I like!

Omg Lauren, I love all your potential names! Seriously, I'm over here compiling a list. Sibel is just AWESOME! I just emailed DH about it and I won't feel too bad if he likes it since your DH won't want to use it Just my luck, my DH won't like it! Where are you getting name ideas besides DH? I just found DS's name in a google search. Someone had a list of a few (maybe 50-60 names) and I saw Aydin and we were done at that point

barefoot!!! I meant to tell you that i know of at least one midwife up toward northern alabama who does home births because my sunday school teacher when i was in youth group delivered all three of her 8lb kids at home with a midwife....and they were all delivered at the same house in Hartselle,AL that is just outside Decatur where i'm from. So, with that said there should be some around your area too...you just might have to call around. (if you're still interested in doing the midwife/at home birth)

Name: Jan

EDD: Dec. 10 (It will likely be pegged by the Dr. a bit earlier (the 5th), but my cycle is long, so I'm setting it at the 10th!)

Age: as of this Friday, 29

Location: Winnipeg, MB Canada

Family: My husband is Paul and we have one girl, Guinevere, born Aug. 08 - she's a bundle of energy.

Gender Preferences: I feel like it's a girl, but I am known for being wrong.

Names: We like Penelope (Penny for short) for a girl and Max for a boy.

Birth Plans: I'm hoping to get a midwife this time, but they tend to get booked up quickly around here, so I'm calling tomorrow! Home Birth would be nice, but I'm undecided at the moment. I'll have to keep it a secret from my mom if I do, cause she's staunchly anti-homebirth!

Anything Else?: We decided that maybe we'd think about having a 2nd baby so we went off BC last month and BAM! I guess we're extra fertile.
Haven't told a sole yet and I'm struggling to compose the words to tell my 3 years TTC sister...

I seriously love the crap out of you right now! Thank you for this link. I'll be sending it to DH, who is upstairs all the time working on pictures! Lol I'm so tired tonight but my DS decided tonight is a party after only catnapping in car for about 20 minutes...I wish DH would come down and help...I'm about to doze off! And lol @ your DH working in the basement 24/7. I know the feeling, except there aren't basements in my part of Texas!

I'm joining you too ladies! I just got a + test 2 days ago but was suspecting for a day or two. I am cautious but excited. We weren't trying but weren't really avoiding so I was a little nervous about what my dh would say. I was going to wait to tell him but I just couldn't so I told him earlier. He smiled right away, took my hand and kissed it! I love him! So:

Name: Jennifer
Age: 33
Location: MD
edd: 12/11/10
family: me, dh, ds1 (8), dd (5), ds2 (3), and 2 doggies
gender: don't care!
names: not even contemplating yet
other: we will probably have our 3rd homebirth but it depends a bit on where we move to. We just put our house on the market yesterday and we have to sell and find a new house now. I'm getting excited!

nice to meet you all!
