yay to my dad

Not sure if this is the right place, my dad's opening a shop in scarborough with a little cafe at the back and is going to make a point of having breastfeeding welcome signs, he's also said if anyone complains about a woman breastfeeding their baby/child the complainer will be told to either stop watching or leave

He's not going with the cafe idea at the back of his shop as he wants to wait and get an actual cafe but he is putting a couple of sofa's in the back of the shop so that mums can go and sit down to feed their babies if they get hungry while shopping, he's also doing concessionary refreshments and little play corner for other children to playing while mum is feeding baby, and i get to choose how the area is decorated.
any suggestions? if you were out shopping and wanted to just slump down with a cuppa and feed baby while out shopping what would you like the room to be like? so far he has a green carpet he was going to use for his house.

What a wonderful idea! If I was out shopping and wanted to drop in and feed my babe I would like a comfy chair with arm rests and maybe something to put my feet up on.

i love looking at artsy fartsy stuff dealing with mamas/children/breastfeeding/natural bodies/nature in general ... just warm and welcoming pictures/art that promote a positive relationship between families ... stuff like that would get me all in a nursing mood

Yay Dad indeed!

Maybe add some "not so noisy" toys (e. g. one of those "beads on wires" cubes, drawing material, picture books) to keep older siblings happily entertained?

yes i was thinking some comfy sofas were going to see if we can get some free on freecycle and just get some nice throws to go over them.

good idea, the carpet is going to be green so i was thinking maybe do the walls a pale blue with clouds to make it like the floor is grass and the walls sky and put some nice breastfeeding posters posters up.
