Miakoda's epic homebirth story

I finally finished Miakoda's birth story! I was writing it to her and for her, so it's very detailed.
I shortened it as best I could to share with you Mama's.
I also posted our birth montage video.

I was so moved by your birth story and video. Especially, I'm just so deeply impressed and in awe of your 30+ hour labor! I don't know if it's because you wrote this to your daughter or not, but you didn't mention any suffering, and I just really like reading stories like that. It must have been a challenge, beyond a marathon, and yet you don't mention suffering. It is so inspiring to me as someone about to give birth. Your incredible endurance and trust in your body's ability to give birth are what I need and want for myself.

Thank you for sharing this with all of us. And congratulations! OH and I love her name. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! Lucky little girl. <3 ) ) ) )

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I read so many stories on here that inspired me while I was pregnant, so I knew I would post mine once I had my DD.

It was a tough birth, but I wouldn't change a minute of it!
BTW-I got her name from another Mama on here and knew it would be perfect for my DD.

I hope you do write to Bram, it's so therapeutic. It really helped me to process all that happened and I'm glad she'll have her whole story to read when she's older.

That's an amazing story! We had a mildly sticky shoulder - nothing nearly like yours, since it was really just an extra push to get her out - and my midwife handled it about the same way, I think. She didn't tell me at all; I just knew I really needed to push, because she went from being calm and relaxed about everything, telling me to push when I felt like it, to suddenly almost yelling, "Come on, PUSH!" I personally really appreciated that tactic, because it was just enough to let me know I really had to do something extra, without making me panic.

This exactly! You explained just how I felt as well.
Her not frightening me to death made such a difference.
