Years ago I remember reading on MDC about someone who made a big deal of a son's first haircut and did it when the child turned 3- it sounded like some kind of ceremony. At the time, I only had a dd, so I didn't make note of the details, but now I have a ds who will be 3 in June and has never had a hair cut and I really like the idea of making it special. Ds was very slow to grow hair, and only just now really needs a hair cut to get the hair out of his eyes, when we've talked about getting his hair cut, he's not in favor, but dh and I feel it needs done. I'm sure ds has picked up from me my own reluctance to cut his hair- it will mean cutting off his sweet baby curls and having him look like a big boy, so I guess I need to get myself excited too.
Also- I stink at cutting hair- I can trim the ends for my dd, but the few times in the past I've tried to cut dh's hair he needed a hat for months- so I can't do this myself.
TIA,
