A bit late to post, but life is settling down enough now that I can finally say that my boy is here. Asher was born via scheduled C-section on the 22nd. I was exceedingly grateful to make it to his scheduled birthday after wishing, waiting, hoping, and praying through 25+ weeks of bed rest. My OB even said that she could see the SCHs in my uterus/placenta when she delivered him.
Of course, a c-section is not how I would opt to birth given my druthers, but with a classical incision on my uterus there was no choice. Within the parameters we had, I would say that the birth was the best we could have hoped for. The hospital staff really worked with us to make things as family-centered as possible....my arms were not secured, the neonatologist agreed to bring Asher to me immediately if there were no signs of distress and then after out brief intro, Asher was quickly assessed and wiped off then swaddled in a blanket that we brought from home (that I'd slept with so it smelled like me). Then a nurse brought him to me and held him up to nurse while I was being stitched up (he really just nuzzled at my breast, but he was content and the memory of his little soft feet in my face while he took in the world for the first time is one I'll cherish). DH, Asher, and I all went to recovery together and began our lives together. Asher weighed in at 6lb. 13oz. (the smallest of my 3) and 19" long.
He is an absolute dream baby. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but so far, he is easy peasy-laid back, great nurser, great sleeper, very chill. I am super grateful, as my first babe was high needs and reeeeealllly loud, and my second was fairly laid back but we had major nursing challenges for the first five months.
So there's my report.

The way you talk about his little feet in your face sounds absolutely precious.
