Long Cycles and TTC

Hi Girls! We are officially TTC #2 now. DS was a surprise for us so I did nothing in preparation for him.

I am 37 I am overweight and my cycles are long
I am picking up a BB Thermometer this weekend and looking to pick up FirtilAid (or the like) with Chaste Tree Berry in it. I have started my prenatals and hope to follow a nice healthy diet throughout. I also want to get back into the gym regularly to try and remain active and healthy.

Anyone else have long cycles and TTC?? or BTDT??

I know there are ladies here with long cycles TTC. Do you know when you ovulate? You could use OPKs to help while you're getting used to charting. Also, the book Taking Care of Your Fertility would be a big help. Good luck!

How long are your cycles? Mine have been anywhere from 1-12 months lol but last time we TTC'd I was only ovulating a few times a year (due to PCOS). Now with diet and iodine they are running 33 ish days (ovulation on cd 18). I'd still like to get them a little shorter. Chasteberry didn't really help me. I'm taking maca now and so far so good. I take Iodoral iodine (you can search the forum for more on iodine) and eating a no processed food diet.

My cycles run about 40-43 days. They have always run long.

lonegirl - come join the "for those of us with loooong cycles" thread! there are several of us who are in this same boat.

I've always had long cycles too, and I am also trying to lose weight and keep healthy..my diet is actually pretty good so I am hoping that exercising more and losing my weight will really help.

i second the suggestion for no processed food. Also I just read a good book for ttc called "Making Babies" by Dr. Sami David. Very good...lots of suggestions in there.

Hang in there and good luck ttc!
