This'll be a quicky. I have to leave for church here in a few secs. Actually I went last night, but today I'm volunteering w/ the kids. This is part of my self-imposed therapy - dealing with other people who got blessings when I didn't. I really love my 3-5 y/o's they are so much fun!!

KellyTTC#1: Congrats!! Love having grads!!

MahnaMahna: Welcome. Hope your stay w/ us is short and sweet.

Q'BearsMama: A faint line is better than no line and you totally deserve a bfp!! Congratulations!! Also, idk where you are but would guess that a drugstore or maybe even Walmart might be open for some emergency hpt's. Heck if Dairy Queen is open today . . . . surely you can find hpt's somewhere.

Happy Easter, Ladies. Hope it's a great day full of relaxation and lotsa chocolate.

we did it! one late night and possibly well timed attempt at catching that egg! after yesterday's failure, I'm super proud and relieved that we didn't miss the boat all together. if I o tomorrow (cd14) and my temp jumps up on tuesday morning I'll be thrilled!

however, I kinda feel like I might O a little later this month... still no EWCM around here (even w/ internal checking) so I am trying to be strategic with my timing while still spacing things out so my body doesn't freak out. so i need reminding about two things:
1st: can I really wait a full 48 hours in between "deposits"? or is 36 hours better?
2nd: is leaving semen in me for 30 mins long enough? I can't leave it in all night or yeast will find me and also it just comes out when i pee... but should I be leaving it in a whole hour?

...also, not knowing how exactly my cervix lies I tried both hanging out with my hips up and lying on my stomach for a while after dtd (thanks again, MP, for sharing your knowledge)

and fierrbugg: i commend you for spending time with little ones. i totally know what you mean about the struggle to do so, but i also agree that its important. at any rate, hope you had fun!

I've decided to freak out if we didn't catch this egg. I mean come on yet another month of perfectly timed bd? (I should go pro. I have enough experience) I simply cannot handle another cd38 egg. That would mean what, 52 more days until I can try? Ooooooooooooooooh crud

Thank you for all of the warm welcomes everyone!

enigo - how frustrating to have pain any time, but especially when TTC. I hope your pain eases and you have fun BD'ing and catching that egg!

KellyTTC#1 & Qbear'smama - CONGRATS!! I'm glad I did not have to get to know you in the BSL thread

BelovedK - I've been told by at least one gyno that it can interfere. He actually suggested having sex w/hubby behind me. Mae has explained to me once before what that means, and I can never remember. (ETA: that totally sounds like I've had Mae explain the sexual position to me, what I meant was that Mae has described the term "retroverted" for me. hehe)
The Mothering article also talks about other common symptoms experienced by women w/a tilted uterus - endometriosis, painful cramps during periods, back labor, broken tailbones during childbirth - there were more but I was shocked reading through the list b/c I have experienced every one of the things I just listed.

jenger - Many hugs mama - I was going to PM you but we've been out of the house all day. I'm so sorry you are feeling down. I have got to say though - when I just read your post I got SO EXCITED - we are about 75% sure we are going to vacation in Seattle this summer!! (We were supposed to go visit my sister in Europe, but she's coming home early, so we decided to see a part of the country we haven't been to. Tom suggested Seattle and I thought it sounded perfect!) Anyway - you will have to give me the skinny on the area. We want to see some national parks, go to the coast, etc., etc.
Ummmm - oh and as to the massage - 2 of my friends from my local AP board said that they've gotten the Mayan massage in our city, and Tom said to go for it, so I think I might give it a try!

Tear78 - I am sad, but happy at the same time, to see you here too! Will you tell me a little about preseed? What is it supposed to help with - just getting the swimmers where they are supposed to go? Fingers and toes crossed for you!!

enigo - Just . . . wow. I would go crazy with cycles that long. I hope that you don't have to freak out!

Hope everyone had a great Sunday (and Easter if you observe)!

Wow, the bolded makes me feel somewhat less broken, maybe this has all been a "plumbing " issue. Sad because it is all but too late. I may test in the am anyway.

You would be surprised at some of the things people ask me in PM lol.... I wouldn't put that past someone (not you, mind you, just someone.)

Spotting has become light bleeding. I'm pretty sure this is CD1.

That would be too funny! But a pain too, 'cause half the town knows I am ttc, and They'd all assume... on the other hand, maybe it's an even better idea.... It still makes me think of the 40th Birthday dance party we were at last night - I was sure to have wine in my hand often so I wouldn't have to say "Not Yet"...

Mahna - I am writing you an email! I hope you do come out here! More details to come...

Apricot I'm so sorry to hear that!

Do you know if you have a differently placed uterus by feeling? If I had a perfectly normal, natural birth 3 years ago (save for posterior positioning, which didn't seem to be a big problem) could that of changed my uterus position. (Actually, maybe don't tell me, 'cause then I will have another thing to obsess about...no, please tell me... AHHH!)

Also, does anyone else suspect they only ovulate from one side. I get o pain on the same side every month...
I've seen the ultrasound that says I O'd on the left, but the pain was on the right. Apparently the pain doesn't always reflect the ovary that puts out, but more the reaction to the hormones, which both ovaries can do.

I've got a box of maternity clothes I've never opened. I just can't.
Jenger I cannot even imagine the kind of person who would ask for your maternity clothes in a situation like this. I mean who...Oh forget it, my life is full of people like this.
You should hand them to her and then go "Oh...you don't mind that I spit on them do you?" all sweetly.

5dpo yawwwwwwwwwwn! At least I am past ovulation now.
I'm swearing off the cycle regulating herbs. This past cycle I was taking quite a bit of maca and I've never had a longer cycle. I don't know if it was the maca or not, but every month it seems there is some new super fabulous supplement I start taking.

Beloved There was an article on Mayan massage in this month's Mothering magazine. They mentioned how much it can help with a retroverted uterus. (Now I see someone already mentioned it )

It's been harder and harder to stay out of the sun...Off to the park

Apricot -

jenger - your gyno should be able to tell during a pap (that's how I know, I've had a few tell me just conversationally); I don't know if you could tell yourself.

Ah, a relief - something ttc related that is fine! I have had a (at least a single...) pap since childbirth, and no one had said anything, ever...

As for the pants - I really wanna do the right thing and give (loan?) her the maternity pants. Maybe by getting rid of (some of ) them might be the trick... And I wouldn't need them, even if I got pregnant from the egg that dropped last Thursday, until she had her baby... But... (there are lots of buts) I packed all the maternity clothes from my closet to the garage a few months ago, when it didn't happen instantly (like last time!) and I don't want to go through them. Apparently, I already gave away the ones I don't want... And she asked for them! How insensitive. She has claimed a hard time ttc, 'cause she didn't have a period - but I think she just took clomid and it worked almost right away. OK, rant over.

TTC Things I am thankful for (in the spirit of Lyndzies) (and because of my bad attitude above)
*I have a regular, mostly predictable cycle
*I have a supportive husband, who also wants another child
*I *probably* have a decent egg reserve
*opks are super cheap on amazon
*We have a kiddo already, so there are certain issues I can rule out
*I have you ladies to 'listen' to my crazy rants

Jenger: i definitely vote for wearing the pants : ) I also don't understand why she is asking for them... and i like the grats list!

mahna: oh please report back about the mayan massage! and also I both grew up and nannied in seattle so if you need some good kid friendly places in the city to check out, i'm happy to share. seattle is a dream in the summer months and the surrounding nature is amazing!!

enigo: I hope this is your magic cycle and you caught that egg! also hope you are having fun on the beach

apricots to you... and also interesting about the o pains not always coordinating with the side that actually O's.

maeryn: I was just thinking you must get some pretty crazy PM's : ) thanks for sticking around here even though, you know, you graduated! how are you feeling btw?

ps. speaking of mayan massage, is there a good resource for learning how to do some of it on oneself?

Retroverted (tilted backward) Uterus:

Lurking as usual, and this caught my eye. I do have this. To the extent that during pap smears and checkups for ailments, various OBs/NPs have had real difficulty locating my cervix. So though it does not seem to prevent me from getting PG (and no medical professional would probably say it has any effect at all), I do really believe it has something to do with the length of time it takes me to get PG.

If doggie style doesn't agree with you, climaxing in unison (female on top) can be beneficial (if you can swing that with TTC sex). Something about female orgasm causes the cervix to dip down... so then it could scoop up some of the lil' swimmers and get them where they are supposed to go. I do TRULY believe that's what gave us the little baby boy currently cooking in my belly.

(Oh, and as an aside, I did have awful back labor with DD.)

Okay... that's my for the day. to all of you!

I would feel horrible to desert you guys... even when I felt my worst and was not posting I was still reading at least every other day (for a while during my morning sickness I could not even get to the computer daily!)

As of now I am well into the second trimester, 17 weeks tomorrow... I am feeling great! Still get tired, starting to get achey if I am too active through the day but keeping active anyway... I get kicks every now and then too... thats my favorite part of pregnancy.

I really also hope some of my baby dust rubs off on yall. Though as my soon-to-be mil put it... we should bottle up the water DFs cousin and I were drinking that week... We are due the same day!

Heh... it certainly didnt hurt us any to climax in unison either... though my uterus is hyperanteverted... tilted forward more than most... and I do end up getting back labor too. I cant help but wonder if they have a lot of similar traits between the two because it did take us so long to finally get me this way too even all the months we were together and able to try.

lapis! I remember you mentioning this a week or 2 ago... This is what I remember... I was attempting to look at this forum on on my phone while riding the ferry to the San Juans (for work). I read your post, saying "hug the sound for me" or something to that effect... I looked out at the water and loved it for you... I couldn't reply on my phone easily, and then took a little MDC break (umm, of a couple days ) and forgot to tell you.
