I've been out of this game for a long, long time (my kids are 8 and 5) but there's a pretty good chance we'll be ttc for one more this late summer. I'm starting to think about things I need to do to get ready, which so far is:
Make an appointment with a perinatologist to talk about my risks (my kids were 36 and 33 weekers.)
Make an appointment to get my IUD taken out.
Start taking prenatal vitamins
Talk to my GP about switching or stop taking antidepressants (I have low level depression, nothing life threatening, but when I'm off it I lack motivation and feel "blue" a lot)
Get my teeth checked out by a dentist (I've never had a cavity though.)
Anything else you can think of to do before July?
As far as increasing my chances of timing it right, I'm a little, but not hugely, nervous about the timing given that I'm a teacher and that there is no way of giving me an accurate due date. Kind of more like a 2-3 month window. I'm going to hope and plan for the best and yet try to be realistic and assume another early baby, so I'm sort of adjusting due dates in my head to about a month earlier. I'd like to be due in May (birth in April or May.)
My first was conceived the first month. My second was the third month trying with charting, EPO, Instead cups, etc. I'm kind of feeling that charting may not be so important this time around because my cycles have been insanely regular the past few years, and my fertility signs are unmistakable (lots of EWCM, increased libido, high cervix, ovulation pains sometimes.)
I was thinking I'd do the Instead cups again to hold everything in place. But other than that, is there anything else I can do to increase my chances? Just time it right and go for BD every day or every other day, right? I'm pretty sure I'm O'ing on CD 15 or 16 every cycle, but I thought I'd cover my bases by making sure to BD starting on day 11 or 12 and all the way through day 18 or when it becomes clear that my CM is drying up. My cycle is only 26 days long, so unless my O gets delayed by stress or illness, there's pretty much no way I'm O'ing any later than that.
I'm really actually kind of nervous and super excited to have just typed that at all. I guess I'm looking forward to joining you in July and hopefully by then you will have all "graduated" and I can introduce myself to a new crop of ttc'ers!
